Firmoo Glasses review

I can smell the weekend already!  So I thought I would share something that is completely NOT nail polish at all.  😉 

When Firmoo contacted me and asked if I would review a pair of their glasses – prescription or non prescription – I jumped at the chance.  I got my current glasses almost a year ago and I must admit, I never loved the frame.  I was strongly guided to a specific group of frames and in the end I just wanted the process over.  I don’t hate them, but I didn’t love them.  To have the change to grab some glasses just the way I wanted them seemed awesome.  I popped over to the Firmoo website and the whole process was just a breeze.

Firmoo has a ton of different frames to choose from. The great thing is that you can upload your own photo and ‘try them on’ so that you can get an idea of how they will look on you.

There are so many different frames that I can’t imagine there isn’t something for EVERYONE.  Something I really loved was that all the frames I looked at had different colour options.  Sometimes just the colour and sometimes a pattern. I thought this was brilliant.  The ordering process is so simple.  You choose your frames.  You also have to work out your ‘PD’.  This is your pupillary distance which means the measurement from pupil to pupil.  (Don’t worry, they explain it too).  You then either upload your prescription or just type in the info.  You can also choose to have non prescription glasses in which case you won’t need to fill in anything.  You then have multiple options on lens enhancements like colour and thickness.  Most of these have a cost involved but you don’t have to do any of those.  You can choose to go standard as well.  You then click through to payments and then you wait for your glasses to arrive.

Now let’s talk about the delivery.  I have often shopped online internationally and most of these packages take weeks to arrive.  My glasses arrived exactly 10 days after I placed my order (Which was on a Sunday) 10 Days!!!!  That is hugely impressive to me.  The next thing I want to mention is the price.  My glasses with shipping came to $50.  That works out to roughly R698-00    (based on the exchange rate today).  Which means it is a little less than a third of what I paid for my current / old glasses (not including the eye test).  Are you kidding me?  That is such a bargain.  I am so blown away that I am actually considering getting another pair.

Ok so let me tell you about the actual glasses I chose.

My glasses arrived in a beautiful case.  Seriously, how cool is that.  Included was a little drawstring pouch, a cloth for cleaning your glasses and the cutest little tool for quick on the go repairs – should you need it.  I looooove my glasses.  They’re exactly what I wanted.  For some reason they also feel like I can see better but maybe it’s just because they’re new.  I only need to wear my glasses when I drive at night and when I work on the computer but I love them so much I find myself wearing them way more often.  They are a great fit and great quality.
