Hello lovelies,
What a week. I have been really busy but I am thrilled its weekend. By the time you read this I will be on my way home from parkrun and probably whimpering a little. Now I can spend the rest of the day doing as little as possible. Or in my case do 31DC2016 nails and finish 3 pairs of pants on order. Pretty much the same thing right? 😉 I hope you are having an epic weekend whatever you may be doing.
Right, so you know the drill. Here are the prompts and if you want to catch up you can use the #31DC2016 on all social media.
Today is gradient. So far I have done reciprocal gradients every year for this prompt. I do gradients so often that I tend to keep these for this prompt but after doing it I now feel that it’s getting old. Not only the same reciprocal gradient but this time even in colours I am sure I have used before. So I’m sure you will be seeing more reciprocal gradients in general posts and hopefully something way more interesting for next year. In the mean time, let me show you my boring old gradient.
So I started with 1 coat of Essence – Wild white ways and left that to dry completely. I then did a sponged gradient using Essence – Wild white ways, China Glaze – Dance baby and China Glaze – I’ll pink to that. I added topcoat and left it to dry completely again. I then took strips of striping tape on each nail and then did the sponged gradient in the same colours but this time reversing the order. I removed the striping tape as soon as the gradient is done, topcoat and viola.
Like I said, now that I am writing the post I feel like this is not new or exciting anymore but it’s done and time is not your friend in this challenge people! What do you think though? Do you like reciprocal gradients? I really do and I could’ve made a bit more of an effort to make this more exciting. Did I mention time is not on my side? I may or may not hit a bit of a panic whenever I think about it. If you want to see other gradients use the InLinkz thingy below.
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
You’re sticking to what you know…
Nothing wrong with that, besides I’m terrified to try this.
