Hi lovelies,
Happy Friday! I have reached that point in the year where I am just a lot of tired. Roll on holidays. Are you looking forward to holidays as well?
Oh, we finally opened our Secret Santa gifts last night! It was a little chaotic with so many people on video chat but it was the MOST fun and I hit the jackpot with my box. I am still in shock and blown away. I can’t wait to show you!!! In the mean time though, let me show you the polishes from the Essence – Love Joy Care collection. I wasn’t very excited to get these because I wasn’t expecting much. I actually thought they would be like the Essence 6 in 1 jellies. Nice and natural but not much colour. I was surprised though. Let me show you
Essence – Lean on me
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. That’s right. 2 coats. The first coat was a little patchy but the second coat evened it out really well. You could always add a third coat if you were not happy but 2 was enough for me. This is a soft pastel yellow creme with a nice formula. It isn’t very watery but also not thick so a really great consistency making 3 coats easy if you really wanted more coverage. For a yellow, I am beyond impressed. I was probably least hopeful for this one and it really surprised me. Go Essence!
Essence – Happy nails
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. In the bottle this looked like a soft pastel pink – which it is – but I love that it has a hint of a purple tone to it. Almost like a lilac pink. This had a beautiful formula as well. Again, the first coat was a little sheer but the second coat was beautiful. I really loved wearing this one and once again, so impressed. I really thought the colour pay off would be minimal.
Essence – I care for you
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. In the bottle this looked like a pastel peach but on the nail it was more nude. So I am going to say this is a peachy nude pastel creme. I looooooved this one. Formula like the others and really beautiful.
Essence – You made my day
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a pastel green minty creme. Lovely formula like the others and a really pretty colour! I thought of all of them this would be the only real one to show some colour on the nails. I was obviously very wrong but this one is probably the most opaque of them all. They all just needed 2 coats but this first coat was a little more opaque than the others. Not that it makes a difference because second coat is all that matters right?
I was really impressed and surprised by this collection. My expectations were quite low and they definitely exceeded them. The colours are beautiful and soft. There are 5 polishes in this collection but I only managed to get 4 of them. These polishes all also have “100% natural ingredient” and my only real gripe is that the ingredients are not listed. I know Essence is a cruelty free brand (HUGE win in my eyes) so I am n0t concerned, it would just be nice to be able to see the ingredients. Especially when a statement is made about them. Either way, I can definitely recommend these polishes if you like soft pastel colours. Office bound ladies, this one is definitely for you!
What do you think? Are these colours you lean towards? Which one is your favourite or have you picked up any of these? Have a fabulous weekend. I will see you on Monday and don’t forget, next week is my last week before holidays! My last post will be on the 16th and I will be back on the 2nd of January. I might pop in with a post here in there but no promises. (I want to show you my amazing Secret Santa box!!!)
Thanks for reading,
Renita
You made my day looks quite nice but were they “strengthening” in any way?
Michelle Roberts
Uhm…..I didn’t wear it long enough to really notice a difference unfortunately :/

The purple one is my absolute favourite. I’ve been using it as a base coat – for no real reason actually, just sommer.

I think if the 100% natural and the caring is true – and I have no reason to think it isn’t – it would make a fabulous base coat. Or even that you won’t need a base coat if you wear it. They’re really pretty.
