Hello lovelies,
I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far. Mine has been pretty good. The terrible heat is back and I am as stiff as anything but otherwise it’s been a good week!
I love Born Pretty Store and all the variety of nail art goodies available. I have quite a few of their stampers and so far I haven’t been disappointed. Today I am showing you the Starry Sky stamper which you can find here (or click on the image below)
I got the stamper head in green and it comes with the metal holder and 2 small, credit card style scrapers. These are not my favourite scrapers. I prefer the softer Born pretty Store one but these do still have great purposes.
The stamper head and stamper holder came individually wrapped
The stamper head is also quite soft and really quite sticky. In the photo above I am bare pressing down. I know it’s hard to judge from a photo so here is a short clip of me squishing the stamper. It is really nice, soft and squishy and also quite sticky. It made me feel hopeful.
The stamper head is 4cm wide. Here you can also see how beautiful the stamper head is. This is the polish everyone wants to own in the shape of a stamper head. Now I know the biggest question is, How does it stamp? It’s obvious that it’s a beautiful stamper to look at but is it a good stamper? Because I had been touching it and left it lying on my desk, all I did was run my lint roller over it. I didn’t prep it, prime it or wash it in any other way. Let me show you
It was at this point that I had to pick my jaw up from the floor. How perfect does that pick up the images? So recap, all I did was run a lint roller over it to pick up any stray cat hairs and all the fingerprints from touching it and boom! Perfect image. Of course, matters if it transfers as well. So let me show you some stamping on my nails.
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – GR8 on all my nails and when it was completely dry I stamped using Mundo de Unas – Avocado and BP L027. And that is perfect stamping. Want a closer look?
Isn’t that gorgeous? I really really love this stamper. It is possibly the nicest stamper I have. Every single image I stamped came out perfect. The stamper is soft enough fold over curvy nails and also wide enough to work with really long nails. The only drawback to this stamper is that it isn’t a clear stamper BUT you don’t need a clear stamper for everything. This stamper is Ah-mazing! You can also buy replacement heads and I am definitely going to grab a few more of these heads. I am in love with this stamper.
Do you have this stamper? What do you think of it? Is it on your wishlist? If not, it really should be. If you want to grab this stamper for yourself don’t forget to use my discount code below to get 10% off.
I also have a swatch for you.
China Glaze – GR8
This is 2 coats without topcoat. This is a gold holo and of course, there was no sun on the day I wore this. You can however pick up some of the holo in the photos here. It’s a beautiful holo with a thin but easy formula.
**Edited to add** Renita asked me in the comments if it was possible that the stamper worked so well for me because of the polish I used. I was pretty confident that the stamper was just that good but I promised to do some testing with normal polishes as well. Here are the results
Sinful Colors – Snow me white
China Glaze – Admire
Essence – Coral me crazy
Nubar – Lavender
I am super happy with the results and I think the stamper proves to be a big winner. What do you think?
Thanks for reading,

So much!

I got this stamper with their anniversary coupon but haven’t tried it yet. I’m curious though: did you get such amazing results because of the polish you used or is it all due to the stamper? If possible could you maybe show us how it stamps with some other polishes? Just one/two. Pretty please *puppy dog eyes*
Michelle Roberts
I am willing to say it is the stamper but of course I will do a test. Any specific polish? I will do it today and add to this post?
Renita
A metallic polish or sinful colors snow me white/black on black. Because we know the results we would get with those and other stampers. Thanks so much! You’re a star!!

Consider it done 😉 I’ll let you know when the post is updated 😀
Renita
Thanks 🙂

I’ve done some testing and updated the post 😉
Renita
Wow! I am super impressed!! Thank you so much for conducting this research 😉

I own this too and it is awesome!

It really is awesome. I have a super squishy one and I have a sticky one and this is just all the good parts combined. (except that it’s not clear) 😉
Painted Fingertips
I just don’t know if I could cope with a non-transparent one any more, though!

Aren’t we just spoilt with our clear stampers 😛 I said the same thing too but I also realized there are times a non clear stamper can still work. 😀
