Essence Colour Boost range – My 4 picks

Happy Freedom Day my fellow South Africans.  I hope you’re having a beautiful day off and spending it with people you love (even if that is yourself)

When I saw these on the shelf I knew I had to grab  few to swatch for you guys.  I will probably grab them all but I thought I would grab 4 to do a quick swatch.  I chose a light one (the yellow), a darker one (the blue), a pink one (obviously) and a crowd pleaser.  I was very intrigued by these and the ‘1 coat & go’ statement.  I’m a 2 coater girl so it doesn’t really make a difference to me.  Sometimes when you’re in a rush it does help to have a 1 coater you could slap on on your way out the door.  I must say though, 2 coats will always last longer and be smoother.  Let me show you and see how I feel about them.

Essence – Instant happiness

This is 2 coats with no topcoat except on my ring fingers where it is just 1 coat.  This is a minty / turquoise creme.  It applies beautifully, just like butter and as you can tell, it’s pretty opaque. I couldn’t really tell much of a colour difference between the 1 and 2 coats but I do think it’s a little smoother on the 2.

Essence – Instant match

This is 2 coats with no topcoat except for my ring finger which is 1 coat.  This is a mind blowing blue creme.  Again with a buttery smooth formula and super opaque.  Again I couldn’t really tell the difference in colour between my ring finger and the rest except for smoothness.

Essence – Instant party

This is 2 coats with no topcoat except my ring finger which is 1 coat. This is a pink creme but thanks to my camera hating on pink it looks a bit more red toned.  Again, gorgeous formula and super opaque.  You know the deal by now, I couldn’t tell the difference between the 1 coat and 2 coat except for smoothness.

Essence – Instant summer

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  This is maybe the only one that I didn’t feel comfortable with 1 coat.  I think if you used a thicker coat it would’ve been fine.  It must be said though, this is a fantastically opaque yellow creme.  Yellows are difficult in general.

You guys, I am SO impressed with these.  Not only are the colours fun, bright and super opaque they also have stunning formulas.  All of these applied like butter.  I barely even had  to clean up.  I can’t wait to get my hands on a few more, especially if they are all like this.  Of course, these will definitely be in the next Tuesday Stamping.
