Hey guys!
Happy women’s day! Today is a public holiday over here but I must admit, it has been one super long weekend for us. We took Monday and Tuesday off and enjoyed the really long weekend. 2 day week? heck yeah! How is your week treating you?
Before I show you what I did on my nails today I just want to mention the 31 Day Challenge. I have mentioned in a few posts how I was unsure if I should do it and I think I got my answer. My nails showed me they need a bit more TLC and I need the regular schedule to give them that. Besides the break I had the other day, my index had another little break and I can see it is going to start a nasty split soon if I don’t take it easy. So I will NOT be doing the 31 Day Challenge this year but you can bet your socks I will be doing it again next year. Are you doing it?
Ok, onto the new. I had some polishes I wanted to swatch and they looked so pretty together that I turned it into some nail art. So let me show you what I did and then show you some polishes.
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – I just can’t-aloupe on all my nails. I then added 1 coat of China Glaze – Sun’s out, buns out on my ring and middle finger. Once it was all dry I stamped using Lina Feeling Shapely 07 and Mundo de Unas – white to stamp over my ring and middle finger. I then double stamped using the same image and Mundo de Unas – Tulip. I topcoated and that was that.
What do you think? I really like the colours together and I really love the image I stamped. This was the first nail art I did after my nail break. I felt very self conscious about them so I didn’t go too crazy but then I really ended up liking them. What do you think? Does it work? Let me show you some swatches
China Glaze – I just cant-aloupe
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a peachy / melon / coral creme. It had a really nice formula and it applied really nicely. It wasn’t thick and gloopy and also not thin and runny. I also thought it had a really nice opacity so looking forward to trying this in a future Tuesday Stamping.
China Glaze – Sun’s out, buns out
This is one coat over I just cant-aloupe with no topcoat. This is a goldy shimmery beauty. It’s super sheer and just won’t work on it’s own but its a great one to layer. It worked beautifully with this base but I am excited to try it with different colours.
Do you have any of these? Do you have a favourite? Have you tried the Lina plates? I am OBSESSED with them! I can’t recommend them enough. If you want to see some plate swatches just let me know.
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
I haven’t done the 31DC, but I also don’t think it’s something I would want to do. The purpose of it is to push your creativity and to do a mani a day. It also makes sense that you want to build your nails up to what they used to be too. Oh and I love the mani!

Yeah it does take a lot. I don’t think many – if any – do their nails on the actual days but it does still take a lot out of your nails. I’m not sure if it is just me but I find doing my nails is much quicker and easier than editing photos and writing posts. So that is probably the most daunting task for me.
Thank you! xx

That’s so pretty! The Lina plates are high on my wishlist but they’re going to have to wait a while… apparently bills have to be paid too 😉
I guess breaking nails are wreaking havoc globally… I just managed to tear of at least half of my thumb nail 🙁

Ugh….bills….so overrated! HAHAHAHAHA
I can just say the Lina plates are amazing. I think if I had them before many of thy others I probably wouldn’t have 400+ stamping plates at the moment. They’re stunning.
Isn’t it the most terrible feeling when that nail breaks? My first through it always ‘how much broke off’. Ugh.
