52 week nail art challenge – Week 11: Ocean

Hey guys,

Happy Monday!  Did you have a good weekend? Mine was busy and productive but good.  It did seem to go by in a blink of an eye.  During the week we also had some cooler weather and I was sure we had turned the corner into autumn but nope.  This weekend we had ‘death by humidity’ again.  I suspect it’s the last push before it does finally cool down.  By cool down I of course mean it just cools down enough to comfortably sleep at night.  I can’t wait!

Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio.  As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.

The prompt today is Ocean and man oh man.  I was not inspired.  I did something and I really don’t like it.  I am going to show you but really you should just close this post now and wait for the next one.

I started with 1 coat of Essence – If I were a boy on all my nails and left that to dry completely.  I then did a smoosh on all my nails using Essence – If I were a boy Essence – The boy next door (old) and Essence – I don’t need money honey! I topcoated that and left it to dry before doing the next step.  I then stamped on my index using BM504 and Mundo de Unas – white.  I stamped on all the other nails using BM509 and Mundo de Unas.  I topcoated and left that to dry a bit again and then I used L A Girl – Sandstorm to do random shapes on the tips to represent the sea sand.  I wanted the sand area to get bigger progressively from my index to the pinky.  I then added the shells using BM505 and Mundo de Unas – Nabu and BM503 and Mundo de Unas – Papyrus.  I couldn’t topcoat it again but that was that.

So if you’re still reading, what do you think? I don’t even like the photos :/  I don’t know what I could’ve done for this prompt and I really don’t love what I did.  Let me know what ideas you have for this prompt so I have more of an idea for next year.
