Hey hi,
Happy Monday! Not for me though as it is basically still weekend. Tomorrow is a public holiday again so almost everyone I know has taken today off too. It’s like today is Saturday and I am loving the relaxing. How was your weekend? What did you get up to? We also spent just over 24 hours with no internet and it was both terrifying and glorious. I do love my internet connection oh so much!
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is most expensive polish and I had a tough time deciding. I ended up picking a polish that might not be just the most expensive money wise but other factors included. Let me show you the polish first and then tell you a bit more.
KB Shimmer – Peak my interest
This is 2 coats with topcoat. My polish is a coral shade but I have seen other people have a more pinker swatch. I am not sure if it is a difference in light or if something happened to the pigment in mine (mine is older) but I can only speak to my bottle. This is a coral pink toned jelly packed with blue, purple and white glitter in different shapes and sizes. This applied beautifully and easily and I just love it!
The reason why I chose this polish? Of course, it is on the pricier end considering the exchange rate and at the time KB Shimmer didn’t ship to SA (not sure if they do now but I doubt it). This was actually one of the polishes I received in my “US box of awesome” and one of my most prized polishes just because at the time it was just a dream to own a KB Shimmer polish. It didn’t seem like I would ever have the opportunity and then this beauty (and a few others) arrived. So add some sentiment into the mix and this is my most expensive polish.
I didn’t want to do too much to it nail art wise but I was completely inspired by the little flowers next to the KB Shimmer name (You can see it on a few of my photos, right next to the K of KB Shimmer. Let me show you what I did,
Starting with the base of 2 coats of KB Shimmer – Peak my interest I stamped on my index and middle finger using Lina – Feeling Shapely 8 and Mundo de Unas – Lilac. I topcoated and that was that.
What is your most expensive polish? I knew almost immediately which polish I wanted to use (that damn sentiment again) but I didn’t really know what to do with it. I was just going to do the swatches but I was really loving those little flowers. What do you think?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
Love it!! Especially the way the nail art ties in with the bottle, it looks perfect!
My most expensive one is an OPI… also for not just the price but the sentiment as well 🙂

Thank you so much! I realised after I had cropped my photos that I didn’t actually SHOW the flowers all that well but anyway….
I think the sentimental polishes are even MORE special! xx
