Hello hi,
Happy Monday! I hope you had a glorious weekend and ready to take on this week. I am….not. Just kidding, I totally am 😉 At least I am faking it till I make it. I feel like so far June has been the longest month in ever. I am partly ok with that (time just seems to be flying so a slow down is nice) but I am also partly over it (does it have to be JUNE that drags? Nothing happens in June). I am going to stop whining now and get on with the day. I am just desperate for something exciting and fun.
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is blue and yellow. I had SO many ideas. I could go pastels or bright, more yellow or more blue, floral or geometric. Yeah I had SO many ideas. In the end the one that intrigued me the most was the one I chose to go with. Apparently for a reason too but let me show you what I did first,
I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white and then 1 coat of China Glaze – Daisy know my name? I could’ve just done 3 coats of China Glaze – Daisy know my name? but I knew that I was going to work with vinyls and more coats of polish so I wanted to keep it to a few less coats of polish. Once that was completely dry I used the Because I Shop Sharpies vinyls. On my ring finger I placed it with the point towards the cuticle and on all the rest I placed it with the point towards the tip. I then added a coat of China Glaze – Combat blue-ts and removed the vinyls immediately. This blue is the most gorgeous matte finish but I also love it with topcoat so I definitely topcoated it all and that was that.
What do you think? Does this combination look familiar? About a week after I did this I was looking for an older post of mine and I saw this post. It’s extremely similar and now I feel dumb. Luckily I still liked the combination and here we are 😉 I really do like the yellow and blue colour combination. Not only have I done this bright combination before I also have this version of different shades of yellow and blue. How do you feel about the colours together? What do you think of this combo? I also have a swatch to show
China Glaze – Daisy know my name?
This is 1 coat of Daisy know my name? over white with no topcoat. It’s a beautiful highlighter neon yellow with a great formula. You don’t have to use a white base and it is completely buildable with 3 coats. It has a nice thin formula so doing many coats isn’t an issue. It does dry with a matte finish that is expected with most neons. It’s a great neon yellow in formula and opacity but pretty standard colour wise.
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
Hmmmm… I wonder if you like the combination of yellow and blue… (as I just noticed week 21 in your instagram widget thingie on the right side 😉 ). I understand perfectly btw. as these two look great together!
Oh, and want to swap June’s? Mine is going WAY too fast and I need it to slow down so I can breathe!!

Hahahahahahaha I didn’t realise how much I actually DO like this combo. Luckily there are pastels and neon and normal and a combination so I can still sneak in a few more blue and yellow combos 😀
Man oh man June was a mare. I hope yours ended ok at least.
