Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I’m still battling the sniffles but luckily it is on it’s way out and I have to get back to normal stuff this week. It’s still so cold here. I love it but it sure makes it harder to get out of my warm bed in the morning.
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is unicorn and there couldn’t be a more perfect prompt 😉 Of course, I had a million idea and not enough nails so I had to try a few combinations. Let me show you what I settled on.
I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all my nails and left that to dry completely. I then did a sponged gradient using China Glaze – Casual Friday (yellow), China Glaze – Spring jungle (green), China Glaze – Chalk me up (blue) and China Glaze – Belle of a baller (pink). I then added 1 coat of ILNP – Mega over the gradient hoping it would make it a holo pastel gradient. While that was drying I went to work with the unicorns. I stamped using UberChic – Unicorn love and Mundo de unas – Black. I coloured in the Unicorns using the same pastel shades from the gradient for the mane and tails and China Glaze – Mingle with Kringle for the actual unicorn. I left the unicorns to dry and double stamped the stars on my index and middle nail using the same plate and Mundo de Unas – White and then black. On my pinky I stamped the little unicorns using Mundo de Unas – Black. I then applied the unicorns, topcoated and ta-daaaah!
I wish the holo showed up a bit more and I wish the gradient was a little more obvious in the base but alas. I think even as is it is at least ok for a base. I am so very very in love with the gold shimmery unicorns and that unicorn on my ring finger is everything right now. What do you think? Is it ok? What should I have done differently?

Aww there you go with your nice things again! Thanks so much. I had a lot of back and forth with the base. But looking at it again I think the unicorns fill most of the space anyway so it probably doesn’t even matter :P.
I actually got this plate in my secret Santa exchange last year and I am obsessed with it. So I am not going to part with it any time soon buuuuuut….I’ll add it to my will? 😉
