Hey hi guys,
It’s finally Friday! I have so much stuff I want to do but unfortunately I need to finish the stuff I HAVE to do first. So my mission this weekend is to get the have-to’s done so that I can get to more of the want-to’s. What are you up to this weekend? Oh, did I mention it is almost time for our Secret Santa exchange? Eeeeek, I am so excited!!!
I get inspiration for nail art from so many places. Often I am inspired by other peoples nail art but very often I am inspired by patterns and clothes and my favourite, packaging of products. I walk through isles in shops and I keep seeing stuff that makes me want to do more nail art. Sometimes I even buy the products for just that reason. I haven’t really followed through but I am thinking of starting a little ‘inspired by packaging’ series. I don’t know how often I will do it (once a month or once every two weeks). What do you think? Today I was inspired by chocolate. Every time I see a Zang Chocolate I want to do nail art. So here we are. Let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Give me s’more on my pinky and index and 2 coats of China Glaze – Too yacht to handle on my ring and middle finger. While that was drying I stamped the sugar skulls using Mundo de Unas – Caramel and BM-413. I coloured in the sugar skull using China Glaze – Bourgeois beige. Once it was dry I applied it to my ring and middle nails. I then stamped just the eyes of the skulls using Mundo de Unas – Geranium. Next I used a small dotting tool and China Glaze – Too yacht to handle to make smaller dots on the eyes. I topcoated everything and once it was all dry, I stamped the same skull image using matte topcoat. The chocolate itself has the same skull image on it and I thought the matte topcoat stamping showed this off quite well.
I wish I had a sugar skull image that looked more like the one in the packaging but I hope the one I used does the job ok. I really like the packaging and the combination. They have a red one too but I am not really a fan of dark chocolate and come on, who can resist this gorgeous colour right? It is definitely the colour combination that drew my attention. What do you think? Does it work?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
You know what? You can keep the packaging, I’ll just take the chocolate!
That way you can show off the great recreation you did and I won’t feel so sad about that secret santa thing as I have chocolate 😉

Whahaha you make me laugh so much! I would send you a box of these chocolates AND do secret Santa with you if you decided to come on holiday to SA for the exchange? 😉
