Hello hey hi,
How is your week going? Last week I was saying how the week was going so slow and this week is flying by. It feels like I was just getting ready for Monday and here we are at Wednesday already. Goodness me, can it even out a little at least :P.
I vaguely remember while I was doing the 31 day challenge that I had so many ideas. I was going to do all this great nail art when I was done. If only I made notes of these ideas because now that I am actually done, I can’t remember any of them. One thing I did get shortly before the challenge started, was some new plates. I didn’t really love them as much at first but here I am trying to make it work. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of Dollish Polish – Beauty school dropout (I really wish I swatched it, but I will next time). While that was drying I stamped using Moyra 65 – Perfect match and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then coloured in the bottom section of the image using China Glaze – She’s a mane-iac. Once everything was dry I applied to my nails. I topcoated and voila!
When I did the first image on my nails the pink section seemed to ‘break’ with the black lines looking frayed. At first I was annoyed and was going to redo it but then I actually liked it. It made me think of frayed lace or fabric, so I tried to create the same affect on all of them (some worked better than others). I was so very excited to receive this plate (along with a few others from Moyra) but I was so bummed when they arrived and I saw how big the images are. They’re such stunning designs but they’re so big that I will never be able to fit a whole image on my nails. I can still use it and just use a part of the image but I feel it loses so much of the beautiful design. On some of the other plates I have individual images (like a flower or insect) that is so big it can’t even fit one a nail without cutting some of it off. Oh well, I guess it is like that for a reason. what do you think of these hearts?
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
Oh beauty school drop out is stunning!!
And I’m with you about the images in the plates… I have the stained glass one and none of those images will fit my nails. Sooo bummed about it.

Ugh it is really frustrating. I get they cater for acrylic nails but surely my length nails isn’t that far off from ‘regular people’. What a missed opportunity. Also their advertising material is very deceiving.

I totally agree about Beauty School Drop Out, it’s definitely stunning!
I like some of the Moyra plates but definitely not all of them… but that doesn’t stop me from putting them on my wishlist though 😉

I agree Beauty school dropout is a very me polish except for the name. I wouldn’t even have made it INTO the beauty school 😉
Yeah I still want them all but man it’s hard to know what you’re gonna get.
