Hello lovelies
Back to the grindstone! Can you believe we are at the last few days of October already. It’s definitely summer here and all I can think of is holidays and beach days. I could do with a few less hot days though ;). This weekend was busy but good. How was yours?
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is Halloween and before I talk about that, can we talk about how close we are to the end of this challenge? Or at least this year. It’s insane that we just have like 8 weeks left. Anyway, Halloween. It isn’t really a big thing here in South Africa but it seems like every year it gets a little more of a thing. I don’t have anything against halloween. I have no opinion on it either way. I think because I didn’t grow up with it, it’s not really a thing for me. All of this to say, I don’t usually do halloween nails. So let me show you what I did do,
I started with 2 coats of Dollish Polish – They’re coming to get you Barbara on all my nails and left that to dry completely. On my ring finger I stamped the ‘eye’ from BM-H08 using first Mundo de Unas – Black and then again using Mundo de Unas – Avocado but this time I filled in the inner with white. Once it was stamped I used a small dotting tool and some Mundo de Unas – Military green to add some darker green ‘drips’ to the eye. On the rest of my nails I stamped the hands using BM-H06 and first Mundo de Unas – Black and then Mundo de Unas – Military green. I stamped the whole image on my pinky but on my middle and index I only stamped some of the image to show off some of the base. I topcaoted and that was that.
I also did a swatch for you of this gorgeous base polish.
Dollish Polish – They’re coming to get you Barbara
This is 2 coats with topcoat. This is a grey cruelly base packed with black, white, red and neon green glitter in different shapes and sizes. My favourite being the skull and crossbones and the moon glitters. This applied really well and I didn’t really do any fishing for glitter or placement except for maybe the skull and crossbones. There’s aren’t that many of them so when I saw it come out on the brush I definitely made sure it was placed. Great coverage and formula. I love this polish.
What do you think? Does it work for Halloween? Does halloween always have to be scary? Do you do halloween where you are from? Let me know what you think
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
We don’t celebrate Halloween at all, so I guess I’m in your corner.
I love the base color as well, but the shaped gliters… not so sure about those.
They definitely fit this manicure but I think I like it better without them in the polish for “normal day use”
Having said that, I love the colors in this manicure!!! 🙂

Yeah I am not against it per se, it’s just not something I grew up with or understand so….*shrug*
Thank you so much! I really like that a polish and I am so glad I remembered it for the prompt. I think I just got lucky with those glitters being in the spots they were. I even stamped around them to show them off more for the prompt. I think in general painting you probably wouldn’t get them all that much.
