Hello lovelies,
Have you had a good week? Mine has been LONG and I am very excited about it finally being weekend. We will however be spending the weekend cleaning up and sorting out after the terrible weather and floods we had but still. It’s weekend. I am happy. Do you have any fun plans? Or maybe a weekend of relaxing?
Here we are again with another Friday Triad with Juanita and Joyce . So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post. You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month. This month it was my turn again and boy did I have a hard time choosing. I finally settled on this gorgeous design by Yulia on Instagram. Firstly, I am utterly obsessed with her work and I really struggled to to pick one (you can count on seeing more in future). I also really really loved the colour combination she used. Of course, I knew I wouldn’t stand a chance at recreating it so I knew I had to do it a little differently. Let me show you
I loved the negative space bit in the original but I had quite a bit of staining. I tried to work around that by using one coat of China Glaze – Minimalist momma on my index and ring finger as a base. This is sheer enough to still see my nail line but it has the nude to help cover. I used 1 coats of Wet n wild – Black creme on my pinky and 2 coats of ILNP – Sparks may fly on my index. I then got to working on the design. I knew I wanted to stamp the solid shape from Lina Twirls & swirls 01 but that it wouldn’t be enough for the colour. So I stamped that using Mundo de Unas – Frappuccino. This is a nude so I didn’t think it would alter the colour. I then used a thinner brush and ILNP – Sparks may fly to cover the area. Once it was dry I stamped the floral design also Lina Twirls & swirls 01 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I topcoated everything and tah-dah!
Even though I really really really love the colour combo from the original I actually quite liked this version too. I am obsessed with Sparks may fly and I will soon be doing the design that inspired me to buy this polish in the first place. What do you think? Does it work? I am very excited to see what the other ladies create so don’t forget to pop over to Juanita and Joyce to see their epic versions.
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
