Hello lovelies,
Phew, what a week it has been. How was yours? Are you ready for the weekend like me?
I have another review for you today from one of my favourite nail art stores. I often show you stamping plates but Born Pretty Store has a bunch of other nail art related goodies too. Today I am showing you nail foil. I received a 10 pc pack of halloween nail foil. This is the variety that my pack contained.
The pack is 10 strips, each with a different pattern. Each strip is 4cm x 20cm. Some of the patterns are small and can be used with others and some are larger that might fill a whole nail. I absolutely loved the patterns on each nail and I wish I got these before halloween as they are so fun. Let me show you what I ended up creating using the foil on the bottom of the left side.
I started with 1 coat of China Glaze – Casual Friday, then added a very thin coat of China Glaze – Pret-a-potion and then another coat of Casual Friday. I wanted to make a sandwich of sorts to create a slight speckled effect (not sure if it really worked). Once that was all completely dry I added a coat of foil glue to all my nails. I did cut out the shapes that I wanted to use as well. Once the foil glue was dry and ready, I applied each piece to each nails one by one. I applied it, pressed down and rubbed the image and then gently removed it, making sure the foil stuck before moving on to the next one. Once I had done every nail, I topcoated using a water based topcoat and then went in with my regular quick dry topcoat.
I used a water based topcoat because I wasn’t sure if my regular topcoat would affect the foil. I will give it a try some time and let you know. But this was pretty simple to do. The foil transferred really well and the images are super cute and a great size to use individually. You can also easily do a fuller nail. What do you think? I really wanted to use the skulls and leaves (top right hand side) but I think I am going to wait till my nails are a little longer so I can fit more of the image in. I can’t wait to share it!
What do you think of nail foil? Is it something you use? I really enjoyed using it and I’m getting more and more into using foil in different ways. If you want to grab this nail foil pack- or anything else – don’t forget to use my discount code below to get 10% off.
