Hey guys,
I hope you had a fantastic weekend. I managed to catch up on a bit of my to-do list and squeeze in some relaxing. Now I am ready to take on this week and thank goodness, the end of November is in sight. Seriously, this has been the longest month ever!
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.Image
The prompt today is Mermaid. Who doesn’t love mermaid nails right? Well, I struggled a bit. I had an idea and it didn’t quite go according to plan. I changed it up enough to just work for the prompt but I am not sure it is as good as I thought it could be. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of Wet n Wild – Black creme on my pinky and index and 1 coat of Essence – Guardian of the unicorn on my middle and ring finger. Once it was all completely dry I did a sponged gradient on my middle and ring finger using Essence – Guardian of the unicorn and Essence – Mermaid of the galaxy. I then used loose flakies from Born Pretty Store on my index and pinky and topcoated. I stamped using Lina – Born to sail 02 and Mundo de Unas – Black to stamp the various mermaid and mermaid tail image on mu ring finger. I then stamped the scales using the same plate and used China Glaze – TTYL and Mundo de Unas – IDK to fill in a few random scales. Once it was dry I applied it to my middle nail. I topcoated everything and that was that.
I really enjoyed the gradient shades but even though it was different colours, it was quite subtle. The flakies are also gorgeous, I am just not sure if it worked with the rest. What do you think? Does it work?
I can’t believe we are almost done with the prompts for this year. We have only 5 left for this year. Luckily the new prompts are almost ready to share again. I’ll probably share it next week!
