Hi lovelies,
It’s Friday!! Yay! I know for those that have gone back to work this weekend couldn’t come soon enough. I hope the week has been kind to you and you have a lovely weekend. I am probably going to go shopping. 😛
Born Pretty Store was lovely enough to send me a stamping plate to review. I’ve mentioned before how I love getting my nail art goodies from them at really good prices. I’ve also used a few of their stamping plates and only had one slightly disappointing one. The plate I got to review was QA27 which you can find here (or click on the image)
I was particularly excited about the swirly flowery images on this plate. All I could think of was making decals with it. So that is exactly what I did. Let me show you.
On my pinky and index I used 2 coats of China Glaze – It’s a trap-eze and left that to dry. On my middle and ring I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white and let that to dry. I made the decals by stamping the longer flowery image on the right and then randomly filling in the flowers with a thin nail art brush. The orange is China Glaze – Flip flop fantasy. The pink is China Glaze – Bottoms up and the turquoise is China Glaze – Too yacht to handle. I then used a small dotting tool and Essence – Love is in the air to make the yellow centre of the flowers. I also left some of the flowers as is. I then left the decal to dry completely before applying it over the white base. I accidentally smudged the tip of my ring finger during cleanup but I hope it isn’t too bad. I then topcoated everything and left to dry. What do you think? As you can see the image transferred really well. I realise that making a decal isn’t 100% the same as just stamping so I thought I would do something else with another image.
This is 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Black on black on my index and middle and 2 coats of China Glaze – Some like it haute. I then stamped over the black using the bottom left image and Tip Top – Armour plate. I topcoated everything and left it to dry. As you can see it stamped perfectly and I really like the image too. My nails are super super long here and the image is a hair too short for my middle nail but still fits on my index. This is impressive for me if I consider how long my nails are here. I really like this plate and I am even more eager to try out a few more. If you want to try out a few – or any of the other amazing nail art stuffs – you can use my discount code below. I also have some swatches for you.
China Glaze – It’s a trap-eze
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a white base with multi coloured glitter. I can see yellow, green, orange, blue, white and purple. It dries to a slight gritty finish as expected but smooths out well with topcoat. This is similar to Tip Top – Milkyway except that the glitter is bigger and a few colours are different. I kinda like the bigger glitters though but I think they both have their place.
China Glaze – Some like it haute
This is 3 coats with no topcoat (except on my ring finger) I added topcoat on my ring finger because this polish dries matte and gritty and I wasn’t sure if it would make a huge difference on camera. I can see it but it isn’t super obvious. This is a charcoal / gunmetal base with gunmetal, black and silver glitter and slightly larger silver holo hexes. It is crazy beautiful. I love it so much. It is also super sparkly with the holo flashes (which you can also see in the bottle)
