Essence Beauty Beats LE polishes

Happy Monday! One week closer to the holidays. Are you tired of hearing me say that yet? Can you tell I am excited for the holiday season? I am, I can’t wait to feel the relaxing and hopefully Durban will remember what summer is. Not that I love the heat but what is holiday without time in the pool and a braai? Anyway, I hope you had a lovely weekend!

Essence has released the new limited edition collection and I managed to scoop up all 4 of the polishes. It is the Beauty Beats collection which is basically Justin Bieber Girls on Tour. I am not a bieber fan by any stretch of the imagination but these polishes are really quite gorgeous. Fortunately there is no name or face on the bottle so win! 😛

1 – Baby, Baby, Ooh!

I struggled a bit to capture this gorgeous purple.  It is packed with a pink and blue or violet shimmer but it isn’t very obvious.  I tried to get it on the photo though.  This purple is absolutely gorgeous.  This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  The first coat is very sheer and looks a little patchy (which had me worried) but with the second coat it evens out really well.

2 – I’m Backstage

 

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  It’s also packed with a very subtle shimmer that I couldn’t capture for love or money.  It’s a beautiful summery shade and applied beautifully.  I am going to try and capture the shimmer with my phone camera and will post it to instagram.

3 – As long as you love me

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  It was also the biggest surprise for me.  A beautiful grey colour with silvery shimmer.  It looks like just another grey polish at first glance but it is absolutely beautiful on the nail.  If you only buy one from this collection consider this one.  It will go with everything and it absolutely gorgeous on it’s own.  I am already thinking of pairing this with a bright pink.  In love with this one.

4 – Groupie at heart

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  I could not capture this colour accurately at all.  It’s more pink with a goldy orange shimmer.  I suspect the shimmer confused the daylights out of my camera did turned the polish more orange.  The polish looks quite pink in the bottle and is a hint more coral on the nail.  It’s really quite pretty.  Surprisingly not my favourite of the bunch but still very pretty. It also has a great formula.  You can see some of that shimmer on the bottle near the base of the bottle (under the words ‘nail polish’)
