Minty studs & stripes – a collaboration

Hi lovelies,

A really quick one today.  Miniaturemanicures approached me on instagram and asked if I would do a collaboration with her.  So I am sharing that today.  I hope to share a link to hers as soon as she has it up 🙂

We obviously didn’t have the same polishes but I tried to get the closest possible to the polishes she was using.  So here are the polishes we used.  Hers – Mine

• Sinful Colors – be happy  ->  China Glaze – For Audrey
• Sally Hansen – Mint sorbet  ->  Zoya Neely
• Essie – Go Ginza  ->  Tip Top – Fairy dust

The brief was:  striping tape with alternating horizontal and vertical lines and gold studs.  Here is what I came up with.

My pinky and middle fingers are the same.  For these I started with 2 coats of Tip Top – fairy dust.  When that was completely dry I added the striping tape across the tips and then added Zoya – Neely and immediately removed the tape.  I then top coated and added a small, round gold stud at the base of my nail.

My ring and index are the same.  For these I started with 2 coats of Zoya – Neely and when it was completely dry, I added striping tape vertically across my nail.  Leaving a bigger gap on the one side to create a solid colour.  Then I added China Glaze – For audrey and removed the tape immediately.  Topcoat and done.

My thumb was a little different.  I added 2 coats of Zoya – Neely to one side on my nail and Tip top – fairy dust on the other half.  When that was completely dry I added striping tape vertically and then added China Glaze – For audrey.  I can’t quite decide which is my favourite.  What do you think?
