It’s Friday!!!! Yay! There is also just one week left of January. How is that even possible? Didn’t we just celebrate Christmas last week? Goodness me. One of these days I will be smothering you with valentines day nail art. 😀
I know I’ve shown you loads of new Tip Top polishes and yet here I am with more. I don’t know if they come from the same ‘collection’ but judging by the names I suspect so. I also only have 3 of them. I think I have mentioned before that even though Tip Top has mentioned they are closing down, I have seen so many new shades in store. In one store I counted 23 and they didn’t have some new shades I had already purchased.
Anyway, let me show you the three I have.
Tip Top – Broken soul
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a lilac creme with a great formula and fantastic opacity. This is almost a one coater. In fact, if you do thickish coats, it is a one coater. It also has a shiny finish. It’s beautiful.
Tip Top – Heartbreaker
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is a dusty purple / mauve creme. This also has a great formula and opacity. This is a one coater for sure. So pretty!
Tip Top – Manic minds
How gorgeous is this? This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s very blue toned lavender creme with a fabulous formula and opacity. Another one coater. Can you see that shiny finish? Absolutely gorgeous and my favourite of three. Love!
I was really impressed with these formula wise but especially opacity wise. Also, I mentioned I wasn’t sure if they were from the same ‘collection’ but judging by the names I really think so. The names are all very emo, angsty, sad which I kinda love. It would’ve been really fabulous if the colours were all a little vampy too don’t you think?

I suspect Tip Top might have just released everything they’d been working on for the next couple of seasons once they realised they’d be shutting down. I absolutely love these, all 3 are my kinds of shades. I wish that rather than shutting down, they’d have given their website an overhaul and still sold on there – they have enough fans to make that work, even if sales might have dipped for a couple of months. I know I would still buy from them, one of my favourite brands! Sigh!
I absolutely agree with you!! They would still have more than enough sales. I really just wish they would say what is going on with them now. It’s bothering me so much not knowing what their plans are. Also, the new stuff they had is amazing!

I have manic minds but didn’t see the others. I wish Tip Top would have shown us all the new colours on their fb page when they released them so I would’ve went out sooner to get them, I feel like i’m not gonna get a chance to get them before Tip Top ceases to exist :'(
I know right! It was all so under the radar. And there are beautiful colours out I would’ve missed if I didn’t dig through.
I like Broken Soul (although the name is a bit sad, haha) and Manic Minds. Seems like you’re getting an influx before they shut down!
The names are epic 😛 not really suitable to the shade but epic. haha. Yeah, I am so going to miss them 🙁
I think I may have Manic Minds. I dont know about Tip Top hey, the two polishes I have (both new shades) seem very streaky and they dont last very long before they start chipping… maybe its just me, I *am* pretty heavy on my hands,,,
Oh dear, that doesn’t sound good at all. I haven’t really worn any of them very long. I assume that is with topcoat?
Yup, with a top coat. Although Im starting to think this top coat (its a base coat as well) is crappy. after a day or two my polish is peeling off, like the whole nail, in one smooth go. Who needs polish remover! Its this one – http://www.sallyhansen.com/nails/nail-care/base-top-coat/double-duty-strengthening-base-top-coat Any opinion on it?
Hahahaha at least you’re saving on the remover. Honestly? I am not a Sally Hansen fan in general and especially not a ‘2 in 1’ as both perform such different functions that I can’t understand how 1 can do both so I highly suspect that is your problem. It blows.
Ja, thats what Im thinking. What base and top coats do you recommend. I have a great base coat (cant remember brand) but its in a container sitting in SA waiting to get on a ship 🙁
Oh poopie..Well that doesn’t help 😛 I currently use OPI Nail Envy and Tip Top Miraculous results but because it’s what I have. I also use the Essence Studio nails 24/7 base coat for swatching and I really like it. Topcoat I use seche, INM out the door and for quick drying as well Sally Hansen Insta-dry (the red bottle). Yes I know what I said about Sally Hansen but this one product I will use (although not first choice). I’ve heard good things about the Rimmel base coat as well.
Your a star thank you. The local pharmacy (think Dischem) has a sale at the moment, going to pop in and see what I can get 🙂
