Boy oh boy do I have a treat for you today! 😉

Hello everyone,

This week gone past , I was invited to the Media Launch of the KZN Coffee & Chocolate Expo in Durban next month.

YES!!… my two top loves came together and are being exposed *happy dance*

AND AND AND  —> What a FABULOUS opportunity for me to really add some decadence to my nails!

After much deliberation, plenty of guidance, prodding and many many ( oh so many ) failed attempts this is what I ended up doing.

Sugar Spun Chocolate aka om Nom Nom

Here is a close up of the detail that the sugar spun had. It was simply outrageous!! I was half tempted to start chewing my nails again!!

Technique:

I started with a base of 2True (shade 37) but since it is a high gloss , I made it matte by covering it with the essence 24/7 basecoat (a hack for those who do not have a matte top coat) . This gave me a rich chocolate matte finish.. please take note –  the 2True has a very reddy base so there was much cleanup of that.

For the Gold Sugar spun effect, I found a no name brand golden brown polish in my cupboard. Shame, never used before but what a FABULOUS finish! I was soo stoked how amazeballs this little nobody came out and shone so bright and added such lovely texture.

The accent nail was just a quick brush stroke into a rough representation of a coffee cup over the base coat.

It is very important to note that even though no top coat was used in this mani, It lasted a full four and a half days before it got its first chip!

What I used:

Tip Top  – Snow me White

Essence – 24/7 Base

2True – Shade No. 37

Goldy – (name withheld to protect the innocent)
