Double post day! Just in time for the long weekend too 😉
I am actually very excited about this post. Juanita from Sarcastic by nature and I have been chatting and she had this brilliant idea to do twinsie nails. Best idea ever!! I have never done sugar spun nail before and this was a perfect opportunity to try my hand at it. I won’t lie, I was nervous as heck. We also decided on purple with either silver or gold sugar spun (or both). It didn’t go quite as planned for me but I kinda liked it anyway. Let me show you.
I started with 2 coats of OPI – Do you have this color in Stockholm?. Once it was completely dry I started on the sugar spun tips. I used Sinful Colors – Casablanca for it. I did want the tips to be at different angles but I guess it’s obvious that didn’t go as planned 😛 I also realised halfway through that a chrome might not have been the best choice for my first try at this but you know what, I think it turned out ok. I know that I did too much on top of each other too but now I know for next time. I did topcoat before doing the sugar spun but not after because I wanted to keep the textured look.
I know it didn’t come out perfectly and it didn’t come out the way I pictured it but I still kinda like it. I love the purple and silver together too. Of course, Juanita is going to knock it out of the park so you have to pop over to her right now and check it out. (I am just linking to her blog but I will come back later and link to her actual post as well)
Thank you so much Juanita for doing this with me. So much fun! We certainly have to do this again.
I do also have a swatch for you.
OPI – Do you have this color in Stockholm?
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It’s a beautiful purple creme. it does dry a shade or two darker on the nail than it is in the bottle but it’s still super beautiful. Great formula and opacity too. I was really happy when I saw this one and immediately grabbed.
Tomorrow is a public holiday again so another long weekend ahead. I do have a post planned for tomorrow as well. While I go to the Coffee and Chocolate expo I will leave something for you to read 😉
Thanks for reading,
