Hello lovelies,
Happy Monday. I swear it was just Friday a few minutes ago. Tell me I am not the only one? Did you have a good weekend?
It’s time for for another prompt of the #52weeknailchallenge from Polish Portfolio. This challenge is similar to the 31 Day challenge except this is one prompt for every week of the year. You can share yours on any day of the week as long as it falls within the week. Here is the list of prompts and you can use #52weeknailchallenge to keep track of any posts. I hope you’ll join in.
This week the prompt is Inspired by a movie. I know last week I said I had no idea what to do for this prompt and I was probably going to skip it. Then I watched Moana and I was totally inspired. Let me show you what I did.
Let’s start with my index. I did a stamping smoosh using Sinful Colors – Innocent, Essence – Upper green side and Essie – Shake your $$ maker. I used more of the darker green because of the lighter stamping. Once that was dry I stamped the swirl using BPL-027 and Mundo de Unas – Lime. This of course, represents the heart of Te fiti. It’s aslo not exactly how it looks but there you have it.
On my middle and ring finger I started with a base of Sinful Colors – Snow me white. I then did a gradient using Essence – Dare it nude and Essence Absolutely blue mixed with Essence – Rock my soul. I then stamped over it using BM509 and Mundo de unas – white. I then used a piece of sponge with Essence – Dare it nude and sponged over the nude again. I wanted the white stamping to only be on the ‘water’ part. Once this was dry I stamped the shells using Mundo de Unas – Sunflower and Mundo de Unas – Nabu with BM505. I did this because the ocean played such a big part in the movie but even more so, it’s a big part of Moana’s story. The shells are there because of the shells she picks up as a toddler (Can you tell I am trying to not share too many spoilers, in case you haven’t watched it)
My pinky is for the one and only Tamatoa. The best way to describe it is…..SHINY!! I used 1 coat of Morgan Taylor – It’s my party and then 1 coat of China Glaze – Counting carats. It’s basically just glitter on glitter on glitter. Like I said….so SHINY! I really love this scene of the movie. The song is so catchy and I find myself singing along every single time and find myself humming it while I am working too. If you have seen it, you can watch the clip here. If you haven’t, feel free to watch at your own risk.
Alrighty, I topcoated everything and that was that. I quite enjoyed the way it came out. What do you think? Does it suit the movie? Have you seen Moana? What did you think of it?
Thanks for reading,
Renita
