Hey guys,
Did you have a good weekend? I did. I ended up doing exactly what I wanted for my birthday. I got to do nothing specific and kinda just floated around between nails and splatoon and relaxing. I couldn’t have asked for more. Except maybe for cake. With all the birthdays I’ve been celebrating in the last while can believe I haven’t had ANY cake? I need cake. Huge, chocolaty, gooey cake. YUM! Did you do anything fun or exciting?
It’s a new season and a new prompt for week 36 of the #52weeknailchallenge from Polish Portfolio. This challenge is similar to the 31 Day challenge except this is one prompt for every week of the year. You can share yours on any day of the week as long as it falls within the week. Here is the list of prompts and you can use #52weeknailchallenge to keep track of any posts. I hope you’ll join in.
The prompt this week is spring. I was tempted to go full on spring flowers (it’s what we all think of when we think spring right?) but imagine that. The prompt for week 37 is……flowers! I thought it would be fine to do flowers both weeks because it can still look very different but then I had another idea. Let me show you what I did,
I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze – Snow way on all my nails and left that to dry completely. I then stamped using Lina Spring 01 stamping plate and Mundo de Unas – Sorbet (green), Mundo de Unas – Gelato (peach), Mundo de Unas – Pale rose (pink) and Mundo de Unas – Pastel blue. I stamped the butterflies on my middle and ring fingers and then flowers on my index and pinky making sure to change the stamping colours around every time I stamped. I then double stamped the words ‘spring’ on my index and pinky using Mundo de Unas – Black and the Lina Spring 01 plate. I topcoated and that was that.
I thought the stamping was really subtle and I was initially concerned that it wasn’t going to be visible. The base colour (China Glaze – Snow way) is such a beautiful polish so I thought it would be ok either way. Luckily the stamping came out ok. In fact, the more I looked at it the more I loved it. I don’t think the flowers under the black stamping is very clear but that is also ok as I just wanted the hint of colour under there. What do you think? Does it work? Is it spring enough? Let me know if you’ve taken part in this challenge at all or show me your spring nail art.
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
It almost looks like neon flowers in the mist… very subtle and very pretty!
