I hope you had a spectacular weekend! What did you get up to? It was pretty relaxed around here and I didn’t get up to much. I had a horrible nail break on Friday and it actually hurt so I have been nursing that and thanking my lucky stars that I have a few posts lined up in advance. Phew!
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is Mermaids and I kinda accidentally stumbled upon the idea for this one. I wanted to play with my princesses stamping plate and settled on Ariel. Once I was done I decided to do the next prompt in the challenge and colour me impressed when the prompt was mermaids. So here it is,
I started with 2 coats of Morgan Taylor – Wrapped in riches and 1 coat of Color Club – Take me to your chateau on my ring finger. While all that was drying I started work on the decal. I stamped using Princesas 2 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I used China Glaze – Hot flash for the hair, China Glaze – Perfect match for the skin, Revlon – Rock star for the swimsuit top and Morgan Taylor – Wrapped in riches for the top of the tail. I applied it to my ring finger using topcoat. On my middle and index I stamped using Lina – Born to sail 02 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then coloured in a few scales randomly using Color Club – Harp on it. I topcoated and that was that.
I wish I had left her face alone because I really messed it up and made her look a little possessed. Other than that I really like how she came out. I love the stamping plate and I can’t wait to play with some of the other characters. The Morgan Taylor polish also just screams mermaid to me and it is so ridiculously beautiful. What do you think? Does it work?
