Hello lovelies,
Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Mine was alright. Just a weekend. I feel like it kinda just flew by in a blur so can you imagine if it was something exciting 😉
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is polka dot and I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t love polka dots. I wanted to do something a little different and when I saw this post by Valiantly Varnished I knew I had to do this. Let me show you what I did,
I started with just my base coat and then applied one coat my home made sheer black topcoat. (I’ve used it before and explained how I made it but if you missed it let me know) Once that was dry I stamped using Lina Feeling Shapely 02 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then used a thin nail art brush and Nubar – Noir to make a border around each nail. I let that settle for a minute and then I added another coat of my home made sheer black topcoat. Once everything was dry I used a matte topcoat to mattify everything.
What do you think? I really love the concept and I think it came out really well. I am not usually a fan of VNL or exposing my (stained) nails but I think this just works. I also took a snap of it glossy before the matte topcoat and I can’t decide which one I prefer. I think I like the matte version but what do you think?
Thanks for reading,
Renita
Definitely matte! I love this concept and you have inspired me to pull out my sheer black polish??

Yay!!! Thank you so much and I can’t wait to see what you create! I really like the looks you can create with it.

I’m with Renite, absolutely prefer the matte version… sexy as h*ll, man!
I love it so much I actually tried to do something similar (with a bit of Juanita’s polka dots thrown in) but that didn’t work out… at all 😉

Oohhhhh with compliments like that how can I NOT like it? ;). Ah darn, I wish I had seen your ‘version’ but I absolutely LOVE yours anyway!
