Friday Triad – Inspired by @clairestelle8

Hey lovelies,

I hope you have had a fantastic week and festive season.  I can’t believe how quickly the weeks go by when you’re relaxing ;).

I can’t believe it is not only the end of December but also the end of the year.  Seeing as today is the last Friday of the month (and the year), that means it is time for another Friday Triad with  Juanita and Joyce .  So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post.  You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month.  This month it was Juanita’s turn to choose and she chose this beautiful design by @Clairstelle8.  There is also a tutorial that helped a bit.  Man oh man was I nervous.  Firstly I must say that I really loved this design and was actually one I had saved myself as well.  What I didn’t realise was how much I would struggle with it.  Let me show you what I did and then explain my struggles.

I started with 2 coats of Essence – a whisper of spring on all my nails and left that to dry completely.  While it was drying I started to colour in the roses.  I stamped using Pueen 80 and Mundo de Unas – Black.  I coloured in the different petals using ILNP – Zoe, Dollish Polish – One lifetime with you and Morgan Taylor – Invitation only.  While that was drying I started with my pinky and index.  I used a sponge and randomly placed blobs using the same polishes – ILNP – Zoe, Dollish Polish – One lifetime with you and Morgan Taylor – Invitation only.  I sponged this onto each nail a few times until I had good coverage and that was that.  I then stamped over that using Lina – Twirls and Swirls 01 and China Glaze – Best ponies forever and then double stamped using Mundo de Unas – Black.  I placed the roses on the tips of my middle and ring finger, topcoated and called that a day.

As I mentioned, I struggled with this.  I knew I wanted to do a variety of a colour scheme as opposed the neon colours used in the original.  I like how the purples work together but I just don’t like how the roses looks.  I tried them so many times with different purples and different order of colour but it just didn’t look right.  Eventually I gave up and here we are.  In hindsight, I wish I had just gone with one colour.  That might’ve looked better.  What do you think?  Total disaster? Can you see a rose?

This is my last post for the year.  I am going to take next week off and I will be back on the 7th of January with regular post schedules.  I hope you have a safe and wonderful New Year filled with everything you could wish for.  I also want to take this opportunity to thank you all so very much for all the support and love over the last year.  I always say I post here because I love it and I love all the nail polish fumes so I am always surprised and humbled and so glad when I hear from you guys.  It really means so much to me and I love sharing this journey with others.  I hope 2019 is a great one for all of us!
