Hello loves.
Happy new year! I hope the year has treated you well so far and you ready to slay! I am not really a resolutions person so I don’t have any big changes to share. I just try to be a better and kinder person and be healthy while having fun. Here’s hoping that continues! I am excited to be back!
It’s time for a brand new ‘season’ of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
I am so excited to start another year of this challenge. It really has become a favourite. I like that the prompts are changing but that some stay the same and some just change position on the schedule. I love that you can interpret it in any way you want. The prompt for today is red & orange and even though I was excited to start this challenge, I was a little nervous about this one. I had no idea how to combine the two colours. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of Dollish Polish – All hail ming on my pinky and ring finger and 1 coat of China Glaze – Sultry solstice on my middle finger and index. Once it was all dry I did a sponged gradient on my index and middle finger using China Glaze – Sultry solstice and China Glaze – Y’all red-y for this? . Once that was dry I stamped on the gradient. I did a gradient stamp using Lina – Feeling shapely 06 and Mundo de Unas – Geranium and Mundo de Unas – Reddish. I did the gradient stamp in the opposite order of the gradient. I then stamped over that again using Lina – Feeling shapely 06 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I topcoated everything and then used a matte topcoat on my index and middle finger.
I quite liked this. I wasn’t sure if the gradient and the stamping showed off well but I also didn’t think it mattered because as a while I liked the result. I am obsessed with All Hail Ming and I thought it would be a perfect addition for this prompt. Also, have you noticed the different nail shape? While on holiday my nails were so long and I thought it would be a great time to play around a bit with the shape. I won’t lie, I kind of liked it. I don’t know if I did a great job with filing it in any specific way but I like it. What do you think? We’ll have to see how long it stays around.
