Hello lovelies,
Have you had a good week so far? Mine has been pretty busy but pretty good. I do have a bit of an ugh day today but I am hoping I can keep it together 😛
It’s time for another instalment of Polished Pretties Monthly Mani. The secret Santa girls group (affectionally known as Polished Pretties – mostly because of the facebook group of the same name) had a discussion one day about how the Friday Triad feature was born. So we came up with the idea of doing something similar. On the second Wednesday of every month one of us will choose something as inspiration. It can be any image and it can be interpreted in any way. The ladies involved are (linking to IG) Heather, Melliska, Thea, Angela, Juanita, Briget and me. This month it was Melliska doing the choosing. She also didn’t hesitate and had her inspo image ready before we even finished last month. Let me show you what she gave us
I immediately knew I wanted to do the peacock feathers. I have a whole box full of decals and stickers and can you believe that I do not have a single one that is a peacock feather. This threw a spanner in the works because I had an idea in mind but I was determined to do the feathers. I had a moment where I thought about using the dark blue V shape of the body of the bird but I was so stuck on the feathers. Let me show you what I ended up with.
I started with 2 coats of Essence – Kiss the freaky frog on my index. 2 coats of Essence – Electriiiiiic on my pinky and 2 coats of Essence – On air on my middle and ring finger. While that was drying I started with the stamping. I stamped using BM-419 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I then used Kiss the freaky frog and Electriiiiic to fill in the centre of each feather. Once it was dry I placed 2 feathers on each of my ring and middle finger. I topcoated and voila!
I don’t hate how it turned out but I am now forever going to wonder if I should’ve gone with the other idea of using the V shape of the bird. I really love the colours together though. What do you think? What would you have done with this prompt? Don’t forget to check out what the other ladies created,
Thanks for reading,
