Yup, it’s double post day!
It’s time for the third instalment of Polished Pretties Monthly Mani. The secret Santa girls group (affectionally known as Polished Pretties – mostly because of the facebook group of the same name) had a discussion one day about how the Friday Triad feature was born. So we came up with the idea of doing something similar. On the second Wednesday of every month one of us will choose something as inspiration. It can be any image and it can be interpreted in any way. The ladies involved are (linking to IG) Heather, Melliska, Thea, Angela, Juanita, Briget Ren and me. This month it was Thea doing the choosing. She had a great and fun inspo for us. She basically said…..GOLD GOLD GOLD…and gave us this,
I immediately knew I wanted to use Starrily – King Midas for this prompt. I couldn’t think of a glitzier gold polish. I also knew that I couldn’t cover it up too much because this polish screams for all the attention and the inspo is after all…..GOLD. So let me show you what I did.
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Black on black on my ring finger and 2 coats of Starrily – King Midas on the rest of my nails. Once it was all dry I stamped on my ring finger using Lina – Totally negative 02 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I topcoated and that was that.
This is super simple but I feel like King Midas doesn’t need much to make it shine. I almost feel like the stamping gets a bit lost because the gold is SO shiny. I also really love it with black. Again, super simple but the holo helps. Let me show you a flash shot
What do you think? Enough? Gold enough? I know it’s shiny enough. I like the open prompt that really allows you to do anything with 1 colour. I’d love to know how you would’ve interpreted this prompt.
