52 week nail art challenge – Week 22: School

I hope you had a beautiful weekend! Mine was good and I am so ready for the week. I am also really cold which makes me even happier. Although it is really tough to get out of bed in the morning.

Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio.  As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.Image

The prompt this week is School and I’ll be honest, it had me stumped for a while. I knew the first thing that came to mind was already done by someone else so I had to go back to the drawing board. Then inspiration hit and I got an idea. Let me show you what I did.

I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Wisp on my pinky and index and 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Dark room on my middle and ring finger. Once it was completely dry I started with the stamping. I stamped on my index using QA-18 and Mundo de Unas – reddish. I then used a thin nail art brush and black to draw on the stems and white to make a little reflection spot on the side of each apple. On my middle finger I stamped using BM-408 and Mundo de Unas – white. On my ring finger I stamped using BM-H23 and Mundo de Unas – White. On my pinky I freehanded the apple using a thin nail art brush and Essence – Fame fatal. I then dipped my brush in the black and in the red again to add the darker shade to the edge of the apple. I used white to make the little reflection spot on the side. I then used Essence – All me Kylie for the stem and Essence – Beijos de Brazil for the leaf. I topcoated everything and then ended it off with a matte topcoat.

I am actually quite chuffed with how this turned out. Especially that freehanded apple on my pinky. I NEVER do freehand because I stink at it but I think that apple turned out quite well. What do you think? What would you do for the school prompt?
