52 week nail art challenge – Week 36: Gold & brown

I hope you had a spectacular weekend. Last week has been such an incredible week for me. My cousin went home on Saturday so everything felt very quiet and I already miss her terribly.

Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio.  As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.Image

The prompt this week is gold & brown and I had so many ideas. I used a gorgeous brown with a gold shimmer a few weeks ago and I thought for sure I would use that for this prompt too but then last minute I changed my mind. Let me show you what I did,

I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Foie Gras on my index and middle nail and 2 coats of Color Club – Cherubic on my pinky and ring finger. Once it was all dry I did leopard print using Color Club – Cherubic and China Glaze – Best ponies forever and then I did the edges with Wet n Wild – Black creme. I topcoated and that was that.

I wasn’t sure if Cherubic would qualify as brown or gold but it was too gorgeous not to use and I knew I would cover the gold and the brown in the leopard print. What do you think? Does it work for gold & brown? I was wondering if I should’ve popped on some matte topcoat but I didn’t want to lose the shine of the gold and holo.
