Hey hi hello,
Here we are half way through the week again. I hope your week has been good so far!
It has been a while but I am back with another review from one of my favourite nail art stores today. I have a stamping plate from Born Pretty Store to show you. Their range of stamping plates just expands all the time and today I have a stunning plate to show you. It is Nicole Diary L12 and here is a photo from their site.
As you can see, this is a Halloween themed stamping plate. This is a bigger plate. It measures 14.5cm x 9.5cm and the images are a great size for long and short nails. Even though this is a halloween themed plate I wanted to really show the versatility so I am going to show you 3 ways to use this plate from ‘every day’ to full halloween themed. Let’s go!
First up is an every day look using the plate. I started with 2 coats of OPI – Can’t let go on my ring finger and pinky and 2 coats of OPI – Don’t toot my flute on my middle and index. Once it was completely dry I stamped on my index and middle finger using the top left image and Mundo de Unas – White and Mundo de Unas – Gold. I topcoated the stamped nails and that was that.
I wanted to get an almost marbled look with the stamping and I really liked the end result. Onto the next. This one can be used for halloween but is also something you can use all year round.
I started with 2 coats of Catrice – Down the Milky Way on all my nails and let that dry completely. I then double stamped the spiders on my middle and ring fingers using Mundo de Unas – White and then Mundo de Unas – Black. On my pinky and index I double stamped the spider web image using the same colours. I topcoated everything and that was that.
I wish I could really show off how sparkly and holo that polish was but nope. I do really like those spiders though. I think they’re super cute and versatile as you can use the spiders individually too. Onto the next, this one is full halloween themed.
I did a sponged gradient on all my nails using China Glaze – Flame-boyant, China Glaze – Seeing red and China Glaze – Recycle. I let that dry completely and then I went to work with the stamping. I used a combination of the images at the bottom of the plate and Mundo de Unas – Black to create the spooky, zombie, halloween themed landscape. I topcoated everything and then went in with a matte topcoat.
That is that! I really enjoyed being able to use one plate and show the versatility. I often shy away from themed plated as it might feel restricting but really you can use them all year round, even if it is just one image. What do you think? Do you like special occasion themed plates? What do you think of this plate? I really enjoyed using it and the images picked up beautifully. I can’t wait to grab more of these plates to play with.
