Hey hi hello,
Are you having a good week so far? Mine has been pretty good but it also seems to be going very quickly.
It’s time for the next instalment of Polished Pretties Monthly Mani. The secret Santa girls group (affectionally known as Polished Pretties – mostly because of the facebook group of the same name) had a discussion one day about how the Friday Triad feature was born. So we came up with the idea of doing something similar. On the second Wednesday of every month one of us will choose something as inspiration. It can be any image and it can be interpreted in any way. The ladies involved are (linking to IG) Heather, Melliska, Thea, Angela, Juanita, Briget Ren and me. This has now also been opened up on the aforementioned Facebook group so the inspiration will be shared there one month before the due date. Hopefully there will be a few more new faces joining in as well.
This month it was Thea’s turn to choose and she slayed by choosing this gorgeous image with the ‘pastel christmas’ theme.
I absolutely adored the idea but I was a little nervous about if I would be able to pull this off. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Don’t be a snow-flake on all my nails and left that to dry completely. I chose to do a lot of snowflakes in the pastel shades and on my middle finger I had the hanging baubles. I stamped using Nicole Diary L13 and W222 and Mundo de Unas – Pastel yellow, Mundo de Unas – Pastel pink, Mundo de Unas – Lilac and Mundo de Unas – Mint. I double stamped the baubles with black underneath to give it a little more shadow and for the colour to pop up a bit more. I then also stamped the Merry Christmas on my ring finger over the snowflakes. I topcoated everything and voila!
I really really enjoyed this and it was so fun to do and wear. Once I started looking at photos though I spotted something that I now can’t unsee. The baubles on my middle finger looks a bit like a bra if you look quickly. Ugh. I wish I could unsee it but I hope it is not the first thing everyone sees when they look at it :P. What do you think? Is it pastel christmas worthy?
