Hey guys,
I hope you’ve had a great full first week of January 2020. It seems to be right on trend by flying by quite quickly. It’s still hot as heck and I am melting. Please roll on winter!
It’s time for the next instalment of Polished Pretties Monthly Mani and the first one for this year! The secret Santa girls group (affectionally known as Polished Pretties – mostly because of the facebook group of the same name) had a discussion one day about how the Friday Triad feature was born. So we came up with the idea of doing something similar. On the second Wednesday of every month one of us will choose something as inspiration. It can be any image and it can be interpreted in any way. The ladies involved are (linking to IG) Heather, Melliska, Thea, Angela, Juanita, Briget Ren and me. This has now also been opened up on the aforementioned Facebook group so the inspiration will be shared there one month before the due date. Hopefully there will be a few more new faces joining in as well.
This month it was Angela’s turn to choose and she gave us this gorgeous image
Isn’t this just the most gorgeous image? You can’t help but feel inspired right? Wellll….that’s what I thought. I had an idea and had a vision in mind of how it would end up. It didn’t quite but let me show you what I did,
I started off by doing a smoosh on all my nails using China Glaze – Blue-ya and China Glaze – Purple fiction. Once that was dry I used a small piece of sponge and sponged the lighter colours on using China Glaze – Belle of a baller and China Glaze – Spring jungle. I sponged on my ring finger and a bit on the tip of my pinky. I then stamped the tree on my ring finger using Konad 31 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I used a toothpick and Sinful Colors – Snow me white to make little dots for the stars. It was a bit too harsh so I used the same toothpick and China Glaze – Blue-ya to go over each dot to to blur it out a bit. I topcoated and that was that.
It’s not really how I envisioned it would turn out but I liked it enough. I hope it is inspired enough by the image to count. I absolutely love how the smoosh came out even though it is quite dark. I love the purple with the glittery blue. What do you think? Does it work?
Thanks for reading,
Joyce
It sure works 🙂
And that image isn’t only gorgeous but pretty scary too! I wouldn’t know where to start if I had to do a manicure inspired by it… *quickly crawls back in her comfort zone*

Thank you so much!
Hahahaha I think I’m slowly learning that it doesn’t always have to be an exact recreation. That I can take a piece, the colours or one part of it. It helped me break it down because I was very intimidated 😛
