In April, Gee Whiskers! had a whole month of giveaways on her blog to celebrate her birthday month. I love her blog because she always has the most gorgeous pictures and such interesting and informative posts up. If you haven’t visited her blog then I think you should right now. No wait, after reading this post 🙂
I was lucky enough to win a prize in her month long giveaway and I was SO excited. She really spoilt me too by adding so many little extras. You can see in the photo below how much she actually sent me. I do however just want to talk about the eyeshadow palette today though.
I have mentioned before that my skin is very sensitive so I always have to be careful with what I use on my face. Way back in the day when I just started to use makeup I found that Revlon was the only brand that didn’t irritate my skin or cause any break outs. Since then I have mostly stuck to Revlon because when it works why change right? I know that Revlon has been on and off the cruelty list. I do my very best to not support brands that are not cruelty free as much as I can. I must admit I also hardly ever wear makeup so it always lasts forever. Recently I have been loving all the looks and products out there and I have really been making an effort to wear makeup more often. I am amazed at how it can change how I feel during the day. Of course when I won this eyeshadow palette I was over the moon.
It comes in a very sturdy black case that is hardy and the perfect size. It fits perfectly in my makeup bag which means everything can go with me when I go somewhere.
Inside are 8 gorgeous shades. The individual colours don’t have names but the palette is the Glamour Girl palette. The colours are so gorgeous and there really is a colour for everything.
I swatched them all on my arm over primer. As you can see they are really pretty and the colour pay off is fabulous. They are in the same order as they are in the palette. The soft pink shade on the top is so pretty especially for day time wear. I also really love the olive/gold and the brown / gold shade on the right top and bottom. Ok I really like them all. I have had so much fun with this palette and Revlon has not disappointed me here. I have also managed to create so many different looks from just this one palette. I am really in love with this palette.
I just have to mention. When I did the swatches I knew I couldn’t do it on my wrist (which is logical and easiest) because of my tattoo so I had to do it higher up. I am such a monkey though because I didn’t think of positioning to photograph. I applied it all and once I had to take the photo I almost had to twist my arm off. Apologies if the photo didn’t come out quite as well as I had hoped. Here is a shot so you can see just how silly I was.
Can you see how off I was? This would’ve been a convenient angle for the photo but the product is so far over on my arm I had to twist it to the left to get it done. Silly goose R us! 😛
Thank you so much Charlene for this wonderful prize. It really went perfectly with my new found love of makeup. I am absolutely loving this palette.
Also, keep an eye out for a future post all about lip products. I have managed to find some absolutely stunning lippies but I also have a question that I am sure you all can help me with!
Thanks for reading!
