I hope you are enjoying the public holiday today. By the time you are reading this, we are either sitting at the car wash finally having our cars washed (and probably eating a wimpy breakfast while we wait) or i’ll be snuggled under a blankie watching movies contemplating what to do with my nails. All this is weather dependent of course. 😉
When I popped down to clicks the other day I noticed that there were a few new Tip Top nail polishes on the shelf. I only picked up 4 of the 5 I saw. I wasn’t sure about the one but later decided to go back and pick it up anyway. On the next trip to Clicks, it was gone. Of course. So my hunt will continue for the other 2 in this collection. They are: Bits & peaches and Cool as a cucumber. Let me show you the other 4.
Tip Top – Champagne whispers
This one is my favourite! It looks a little foil-ish and is a beautiful champagne gold colour. I almost want to say it is a sheer, off white base packed with fine gold shimmer. Some of this itty bitty glitter is holographic so it sparkles like crazy! Some might perceive the base colour as champagne, gold-ish as well. This is so much more beautiful than it looks on a photo. I used 2 coats here with no topcoat. I almost see VNL but this is not apparent in real life. The formula is great and thin so a third coat would be easy breezy. Application was great as usual
Tip Top – Calm before the storm
This is my other favourite. It is a beautiful almost cornflower blue with a very subtle shimmer. It reminds me a bit of Essence – Over the rainbow. Not in colour but with the shimmer. It makes the polish look like something else. This is 2 perfect coats with no topcoat. This is a real beauty.
Tip Top – Breath of fresh air
This is also 2 coats with no topcoat. I might use 3 the next time. Great application, beautiful formula. I like the colour of this polish, a soft lilac shade with subtle shimmer, but it has a bit of a pearly finish which isn’t really my favourite. It isn’t too bad on this one and the beautiful soft colour makes up for it.
Tip Top – a brush of lilac
Here is another example of the VNL again even though it was not evident in real life. 2 coats here with no topcoat but I would probably do 3 coats. The name of this polish is a little more suited to the Calm before the storm as I think it is a bit more lilac than this one. It is a lilac though but it definitely leans a bit more pink. If you look at the difference between the bottle and the colour on my nails you can see it. The bottle looks a bit more lilac where on the nail the pink tones are much more evident. Here the pearly finish was also more visible. Great formula and application but it isn;t my favourite colour or finish. I like it but I love the others.
What do you think of these? Have you picked up any of them? I am really loving that Tip Top is bringing out quite a few new polishes. I am most looking forward to the ‘In the nude’ and metallics collections.
Have a beautiful day further and I hope you are enjoying it. This is another short week. By the time all the holidays and elections are over, everyone will have to get used to full work weeks again. 😉
Thanks for reading,
