Happy Monday!! Did you have a good weekend? Mine was nice but it feels like I need another one. This week I am going to be catching up on everything that I am behind on. I don’t know why I am struggling so much to catch up lately. It’s crazy!
I know I am super late with this collection. It has been out for a while and I am sad to say, has also been hard to find for a while now. There are 2 reasons why I took so long. Firstly, I was desperately hoping to find the 2 of the 4 polishes I couldn’t find. I watch the shelves like a hawk and it seems to get harder and harder to find complete collections. I can’t explain my disappointment. There was a collection out that I had NO idea was even coming to SA and when I did finally find out about it it has been gone. As in not even 1 polish, just empty displays. *sigh*. Please Essence, could you give me a heads up to head to the store. I would LOVE to get these collections out there before they are sold out. 🙁
The other reason why it has taken me so long is because for some reason I really struggled to photograph these well. This was the second round of swatching and I am still not happy. But alas, I am not trying again. I hope they are at least ok to show how gorgeous they really are. Let’s get to it.
Essence – I don’t care! I love it!
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is another duochrome from Essence that is absolutely beautiful. The reason why I wasn’t a fan of the photos is because it looks very ‘foily’ here. Meh. This really gorgeous and even though this isn’t the first or only duochrome from Essence, it is just as beautiful. Formula on this one is great and fabulous opacity too. I really love it and the ‘gasoline effect’ is spot on. I tried to get some photos to show the duochrome but you can also see it really well in the bottles in the above photos.
Essence – On the road again
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. I was really surprised by how much I loved this one. It’s quite different. This is a creamy / beige colour with ‘rough’ gold glitters. I was unsure what the ‘asphalt effect’ would mean. It wasn’t a normal texture but it did dry to a gritty / rough finish. The formula was actually quite nice for a gritty polish and the 2 coats were easy to apply. It is quite an unusual colour but it is one that could pair well with almost any colour and finish. I am sure I will be reaching for this one often in future.
The two that I don’t have and couldn’t find for love or money *sob*:
Hit the road, Red! – This is a rose pinkish shade with a ‘leather effect’ sticker. I believe it isn’t very leathery at all but the colour is quite stunning.
My sweet escape – This is a thermal and the one I wanted most of all. It is a nudish / orange shade and it seems the thermal goes between the orange colour and the nude colour. I so wish I was able to get this one.
Have you picked up any of these? Which ones are your favourites? If any at all. If you did scoop up My sweet escape (the thermal) then don’t even tell me. I will cry. Ok no, let me know. I would love to see it. 🙂
