April Nail Anarchy challenge – X vs Y

Hi lovelies,

Have you had a good week?  Mine has had some ups and downs but all in all an ok week.  It’s another public holiday tomorrow which means another long weekend.  Fun! By the time you read this I will be on my way to go and collect my new car.  Finally!

So it is Nail Anarchy challenge time again.  This months theme was chosen by Madness Nails  and boy did she pick a goodie.  Can I just talk about the theme for a second?  The theme is ‘opposites’ or ‘X vs Y’ for example, black and white or earth and water etc.  Can you think of anything better?  Well, as much as I love the theme I struggled my bum off.  I had SO many ideas and that was problem number one.  Number two was implementing it.  So I am just writing this challenge off as a great big fail.  More than one fail actually but I am going to show you my main fail and then a second fail.  I don’t think you need more torture than that.

PC vs Mac

I am a big apple fan and only own apple products.  We don’t have a single pc device in the house.  I do get a lot of flack for it though but that is totally ok.  As much as I love my Apple products I love the fact that we all have our own preferences, opinions and likes.  It’s what makes us unique AND how boring would it be if we all thought, felt and liked the same stuff right?  I also think that what you use depends on your needs.  My products work so well for me and they all work together.  I had my doubts when I first moved over to Mac but I am much happier now.  Anyway, let me show you my PC vs Mac nails :/

Right, so I struggled my bum off with this.  And I have no idea why I just could not get it right.  Everything was fine except my middle finger which is the PC one.  I think I redid it 6 times!  ugh!!  Anyway, On my pinky I started with Sinful Colors – Garden party and stamped using BM415 and OPI – Love.Angel.Music.Baby.  I don’t think it needs much explanation right?  😉  On my ring finger is the Mac interpretation.  I started with 2 coats of Essence – Black is back and stamped using Pueen07 and Essence white stampy polish.  I actually made a semi decal out of it so that I could take the ‘bite’ out of the apple image.  On my middle finger (sigh) I started with a base of Sinful Colors – Snow me white.  I then made the four colours using acrylic paint and bordering it off with Essence – Black is back.  Ugh!  On my index I started with Essence – Black is back and stamped using BM415 and Essence stampy polish in white.  I am so bummed it didn’t work out the way I saw it in my mind.  Or even remotely close to it. But don’t fear, I have another fail.

Batman vs Superman

I wanted to do something different and I have been wanting to try my hand at 3D acrylic sculpting whatever for the longest time.  This is the result.  I made the superman ‘logo’ on my index with acrylic as well as the superman cape on middle.  On my ring is the acrylic batman mask.  I think those are the biggest fails for me.  I wasn’t able to make them smooth or even.  They look very untidy and meh.  I am not surprised considering my horrible freehand skills but I will definitely keep trying.  I used Sinful Colors – Why not? as base on my index and middle.  On my pinky and ring I started with a base of Sinful Colors – Pull over and then made a border using Essence – The black cat.  On my pinky I used a batman decal from Luckystarstyle.

So I am just going to leave this here and walk away with my head hanging in shame.  Do yourself a favour and immediately go and have a look see at what the other amazing ladies did by using the InLinkz thingum below.
