31DC2015 Day 01: Red nails

Hi lovelies,

My week only really starts today as I only got back from my weekend away yesterday.  Did you have a good weekend and a good start to the week?

I am not sure if I am crazy or brave or both but I have decided to take on the 31 Day Challenge again this year.  You can follow everyone taking part by using the #31DC2015.  I think there will be InLinkz this year as well and as soon as I get that sorted out I will share that at the bottom go the post as well.  Here are the prompts for this year.

In the mean time.  Let the games begin!  I’m holding thumbs I finish this challenge.

Let me show you my red nails.

I started with 2 coats of Morgan Taylor – Rare as rubies.  When that was completely dry I did a sponged gradient using Morgan Taylor – Rare as rubies and Wow #393 with the black at the tip of my nails.  Once the gradient was a little drier I took Morgan Taylor – Rare as rubies and using the glitter, I created a bit of a glitter gradient going from there’d onto the black.  I then added topcoat and that was that.

This is 3 coats with no topcoat except for my ring finger.  I think that topcoat does make this polish look a bit different so I topcoated my ring finger so that you could see the difference.  This is a red jelly packed with red glitter that is to die for.  2 coats might very well be enough but I added third coat to be safe.  This polish has a great formula and good opacity.  I love this red!

What do you think?  Does it work?  When this challenge starts I always think the colour prompts are the hardest because they are so open ended.  Further on in the challenge I think I realise these are way easier.  Ae you doing this challenge?  Let me know if you are.
