Hello lovelies
Haaaaappy Friday! I am so happy that it is finally weekend. I don’t know why (perhaps the possible sleeping in) but yay anyway. I am hoping to catch up with some more to-do list items this weekend. I want to do some nails even though I had a nail break and my nails are so short again 🙁 Do you have any plans for the weekend? Did you have a good week?
It’s time for another Friday Triad with Juanita and Joyce . So once a month we will make turns choosing someones nail art to use as inspiration for this post. You can look forward to these posts on the last friday of each month. This month it was Juanita’s turn to choose and the clever little puppy decided to give us something awesome, simple and beautiful. She chose this post by Cat’s Claws. I couldn’t really decide how to get inspired by this post. I knew I was going to use a similar (if not exact) plate and I couldn’t decide if I was going to recreate or be inspired. And if I go inspired, what to do? Let me show you what I did and then tell you why.
I started with 1 coat of China Glaze – Frostbite and 2 coats of Dollish Polish – My blue heaven. Once this was all dry I stamped on my middle and ring finger using BM614 and Mundo de Unas – Blue. I then double stamped over the birds with Mundo de Unas – Silver. On my pinky and index I stamped a single bird using W205 and Mundo de Unas – Blue. I topcoated and stared at the beautiful polish.
I decided to do this because I was really drawn to the polish. When I considered using it as the base for stamping I noticed that the blue would stand out just enough to make the double stamping less in your face. I tested out the combo and I loved it! What do you think? Does it work? Isn’t this polish gorgeous? I also have a swatch for you.
Dollish Polish – My blue heaven
This is 2 coats over 1 coat of China Glaze – Frostbite with topcoat. This is a bright blue jelly packed with blue, green and iridescent glitter in different sizes. I layered it over an opaque blue that is the same shade because it is a jelly. This means I get opacity much sooner but still get the layered glitter. This formula is also great! It’s not a thick polish so applying it is a dream. If you didn’t want to layer it you could probably easily do 3 – 4 coats without hassles. This is such a vibrant intense blue with the most beautiful glitter. Let me give you a closer look
What do you think? Don’t forget to check out Joyce and Juanita . I am sure they are going to knock it out of the park again. When I see what they came up with I always have the ‘Oh darn, why didn’t I think of that’ reaction 😛 Have a great weekend and I will see you on the other side!
Thanks for reading,
Juanita
OMG that blue is stunning. I feel that this inspiration was more about the base than the art and you nailed it.

Yes!!! Thank you so much! That’s exactly what I thought too. But after seeing your and Joyce’s creations I could’ve upped my game 😛
Joyce
That is a gorgeous polish and the stamping makes it even more perfect… love it!

Thanks so much Joyce. I think the base polish is what saves it. I love that blue.
