Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Mine was spent doing a lot of nothing. I am finally home (got home on Friday) ad I obviously spent more time in hospital than I expected. Recovery is also not as easy breezy as I expected but I am sure I will be up and about really soon. Fortunately I do still have a few posts ready to go so if all goes well at my appointment this week I should be back up and at ’em with no break in ‘normal programming’ 😉
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week was leaves and when I went through the list last year I had a vague idea of something to do with this prompt. I then started playing with a technique I saw on instagram and before I knew it I had something resembling leaves. I even wrote it in my planner as ‘green leaves’. Just like last time, I turned the page to work on some prompts and lo and behold, the prompt was leaves. So let me show you what was born,
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all my nails and left that to dry completely. I then pulled out my mat and used this technique (which is kind of like a smoosh right?) with Sinful Colors – Snow me white and Sinful Colors – Irish green. I then applied each one to all my nails and then I really liked the look. It actually already looked a bit leafy especially with the green but I felt it needed a bit more. I of course did not have leaves in mind at this point so I pulled out some plates and finally settled on Lina – License to be sexy. I stamped this image with Mundo de Unas – Military green, topcoated and that was that.
I know this technically isn’t anything leafy but from the minute I saw the pattern the green and white made I thought it looked like the veins on a leaf. I also feel like the image I stamped has a leafy feel to it. Either way, I kinda like it. The most important part is what do YOU think?
