Hello lovelies,
Happy Friday! Did you have a good week? I have been sniffling and coughing and feeling very sorry for myself but I am finally seeing light at the end of the snot tunnel. At least I hope so. I haven’t had a cold in so long I have forgotten how utterly miserable it is. ;). I hope your week has been going better. Do you have any fun weekend plans?
You’ve probably noticed I’ve been on a bit of a China Glaze swatching spree lately and I am to really done yet. I still have a few ‘requested’ collections to show you and if you have a request I’d be happy to do a few more too. 😉 In our Secret Santa group we had a conversation about the Electric Nights collection and I was going to swatch it as well but when I checked my swatches I realised that I had already swatched 8 of the 12 polishes. Did you know that you can click on the ‘Swatches’ tab in my top menu bar and find all my polish swatches and stamping swatches by brand and sorted alphabetically? I must admit I am a few weeks behind in updating but I promise I will do it soon. You can search by name and you can click on the smaller photo to take you straight to the post where it was swatched. So what I decided to do was link to all the swatches of the ones I have already done and then swatch the last 4 of the collection. This way it was all in one post….kinda. Anyway, let’s get to it.
China Glaze – Daisy know my name?
China Glaze – Glow with the flow
China Glaze – Home sweet house music
Now for the ones that have not been swatched yet.
China Glaze – DJ blue my mind
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This is sightly darker than UV meant to be and more bright than neon but it is beautiful. It also has a really nice opacity. I did have a bit of staying on my skin when I removed this I would definitely recommend base coat – maybe 2 coats. I was actually surprised by how much I liked this one.
China Glaze – Can I get an untz untz
This is 1 coat over Red-y to rave. This is purple, green and blue glitter in a clear base. I found the blue glitter to be a little sheer so it didn’t show up so well over this base but I also know the purple can vary depending on the base as well. This glitter topper is really fun as the base can also influence how vivid the colours are. The glitter is pretty dense so you don’t struggle to get it out but you might have to dab a little bit if you have too much in one place.
China Glaze – Let the beat drop
This is 1 coat over Violet-Vibes. This is an orange and pink glitter in a clear base. Some of the pink glitter is also on the translucent side so it will adapt to the base you choose to use. You can see here some of the glitter looks quite purple and it’s just some of the pink glitter on the purple base. Some of the pink glitter is more opaque and stays pink. I actually really like this combo and it feels very ‘sweet’. I actually think this would like nicer on a pastel pink or yellow because the glitter is so eye catching. This applied the same as Can I get an untz untz. It’s dense but you might need to dab a bit when you apply. One coat was plenty enough though.
China Glaze – Point me to the party
This is 1 coat over DJ blue my mind. This is really a party in a bottle. This has all kinds of coloured glitter like green, pink, orange, purple and blue. I like the bright multi colours and you could pretty much pair this with anything! I have to use this in a jelly sandwich one day because that is bound to be super fun. It applies like the other two. Nice glitter pay off but might need some dabbing to spread.
I always forget how much fun glitter toppers are and I rarely use them until after the fact. I really like these toppers and I should use them more often. I mention that some of them might require some dabbing when applying but I must admit I didn’t have to do much of that. Maybe 1 or 2 nails for each one just to spread them out a bit more. They’re really easy to work with. I really like the polishes too and they are a nice part of my neon stash. It’s actually incredible how many neons I have and they really are all quite different in some way. I love the China Glaze summer collections because they are always just a little different from the previous one. This is the 2015 summer collection and is still a favourite of mine.
What do you think? Do you have any of this collection? Which one is your favourite? I don’t know if I could pick a favourite because I do like them all so much but I think treble maker is one of my most used. Home sweet house music is also such a lovely orange. But no, I can’t choose a favourite. I refuse 😛 Do you have any collections you would like to see swatched? I am doing the Shades of nudes collection next and after that the Summer reign collection.
