Hey guys,
Happy Friday you guys! Even though there will be posts this weekend, it will be the last weekend of posts! This is the final weekend of the challenge! Yay us! Either way, I hope you have a spectacular weekend.
The 31 Day Challenge is usually done in September although you can do it any time of the year. If you want to find out more information you can find everything you need to know as well as the Inlinkz for the prompts here thanks to Cathy from More Nail Polish. Here are the prompts you can look forward to
The prompt today is ‘inspired by a flag’ and because I am terrified of doing any freehand unless I HAVE to, I have been using fun flags for this prompt in the past. I’ve always wanted to do the South African flag but again, freehand. I woke up with this idea of building it with stamping so I gave it a try. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on my ring finger and 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Black on black on the rest of my nails. I then went to work building the flag with different images. I started with Lina – Feeling Shapely 09 and Mundo de Unas – Green to make the first bigger green triangle in the middle. I then used Lina – Feeling shapely 01 and Mundo de Unas – Green to extend the green in the line down towards the tip of my nail. Next up I used Lina – Feeling shapely 01 and Mundo de Unas – Blue and reddish to make the angled lines on the sides and leaving a white line exposed. Then it was back to Lina – Feeling shapely 09 and Mundo de Unas – Yellow to make the smaller yellow triangle over the original green one and then Mundo de Unas – Black for the final small black triangle over the yellow one. I topcoated and that was that.
I was really happy that I could ‘build’ the flag with the different shapes on the stamping plates. I must admit Lina Feeling shapely 01 and 09 (and probably 02 as well) are the most fun plates. I just love playing with the different shapes to build something. I use those all the time. What do you think of my build-a-flag attempt? Does it work? I hope so because freehand is not my forte 😛

These are awesome! I never even considered a build a flag option. I’m definitely going to be doing that next year 🙂

Thank you so much! I was so nervous about this prompt because I didn’t know how I was going to manage it freehand but when this idea popped up I actually had a lot of fun with it.
