Are you having a good week so far? I am knocking out to-do lists and staying on schedule with everything so my week looks great so right now :).
Are you ready for another monthly feature? The secret Santa girls group (affectionally known as Polished Pretties – mostly because of the facebook group of the same name) had a discussion one day about how the Friday Triad feature was born. So we came up with the idea of doing something similar. On the second Wednesday of every month one of us will choose something as inspiration. It can be any image and it can be interpreted in any way. The ladies involved are (linking to IG) Heather, Melliska, Thea, Angela, Juanita, Briget and me. This month it was Heather choosing and she didn’t hesitate! Within seconds she made her choice as “70’s’ and even though she left it very open ended, she did give this image.
I was immediately inspired by the bright colours and marble / tie-die vibe. Let me show you what I did,
I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on all my nails and left that to dry completely. I then used a sponge to make a random gradient type effect using China Glaze – In the lime light, China Glaze – Purple panic, China Glaze – Celtic sun and China Glaze – DJ blue my mind. I tried to get the colours in fairly random order on each nail. I then left that to dry a bit and then did some stamping. I stamped using BP-L061 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I topoated and that was that.
I actually really liked how this turned out. It isn’t a replica of the image but I do think it give the tie-die effect and that is 70’s ish right? Anyway, I liked it. I also really loved using the stamp for the marble instead of an actual marble, considering all the hassle I had not too long ago. What do you think? Does it work? Don’t forget to check out the other ladies to see what they created!
