Hello lovelies,
Another week bites the dust. So does another month. Welcome to November! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
I grabbed a yellow polish off the rack and I knew I wanted to swatch it and use it in some nail art. I am not really drawn to yellow in general but I actually really loved this one. Let me show you the swatch first,
OPI – Exotic birds do not tweet
This is 2 coats with no topcoat. It is a bright yellow creme with a good formula. It wasn’t a little streaky on the first coat but levelled out quite well on the second. It wasn’t sheer which is a bonus. Now let me show you what I did with it.
I started with 2 coats of OPI – Exotic birds do not tweet on my pinky and index and 2 coats of China Glaze – Fresher than my clique on my ring and middle fingers. Once it was completely dry I used tape to section off small sections on my middle and ring finger. I then stamped using MoYou London Tropical 23 and Mundo de Unas – Black. I topcoated everything and then went in with a matte topcoat.
I really liked this way more than I expected to. I just love the combination of the yellow with the nude and the pop of black stamping. I am also really in love with single flower and leaf patterns to stamp with. You can probably expect a lot more of that in the feature. If you have any plate suggestions for those images I would love to hear.
Thanks for hearing,
Karishma
This is such a perfect yellow
Where in South Africa can I purchase it?
Michelle Roberts
Hi Karishma, Thank you! I agree it is a beautiful yellow! I did have it in my store (shop.ordinarymisfit.com) but it is sold out now. You could probably find this at clicks or dischem and I think Sorbet stores also sells OPI. Good luck! x
