Red nail polish. You either love it or hate it right? Well, not so much really. I am quite on the fence about red polish. I love it but I just can’t bring myself to wear it all too often. When I do though, it’s really so pretty. I don’t know if it suits me at all. I do use it often for nail art though and it’s great for stamping too.
So, let me share some of the red polish I have.
Essence – Fame Fatal
Fame Fatal is a gorgeous bright red. As all Essence polishes it is a treat to apply. I haven’t mentioned it in a while but these Essence brushes are so nice. They are the perfect shape and size for easy and fast application. They should be standard for all polishes. Anyway, Fame Fatal is just the perfect shade of red. This is 2 coats with no top coat.
Sinful Colours – Ruby Ruby
Another beauty. It is a huge toss up between Ruby Ruby and Fame Fatal as to which is my favourite. Ruby Ruby is a slight bit darker than FF but just as gorgeous. I also really like Sinful Colours formula and this one doesn’t disappoint. Bright and beautiful. This is 2 coats with no top coat.
Tip Top – Red Rendezvous
Red Rendezvous is a darker red. Tip Top formula means high shine as well. The above brands also have a beautiful shine but Tip Top seems to take it to another level. It’s like glass. This is another beautiful shade of red. Again, even darker than the two above. Perfect winter red right? This is two coats with no top coat.
Revlon – Ruby
Revlon Ruby. Slightly lighter than Red Rendezvous but still darker than Ruby Ruby. This is also 2 coats with no top coat. There was nothing wrong with this polish but there was also nothing spectacular. I thought it was just a smidge sheer in two coats with a slight bit of visible nail line. Nothing a thin third coat won’t fix. Again, nothing wrong just nothing great. Still a pretty colour!
I don’t have that many reds. I don’t know if you need that many shades of red? I will say this though. That won’t stop me from buying another one.
Do you like red polish? If you do, do you prefer the brighter red or the darker red? Any of these stand out for you?
Thanks for reading.
