NAILLINKUP: Let it sparkle

Hi lovelies,

Today is a public holiday so if you’re not on leave yet you should at least be off today.  It’s also beautiful weather here in Durban.  I hope you’ve had a good week so far.

It’s time for another NailLinkup post. This weeks prompt was chosen by B from Because I can.  You can check out all the prompts on the poster below.  Remember, the dates are just a guideline.  You can also find more info about NAILLINKUP and every months prompts here.

So for today’s “Let it sparkle” it seemed obvious to me that I was going to use glitter.  And probably a lot of it.  Let me show you what I did.

On my ring finger I started with 2 coats of Nubar – Heavy gold glitter.  On the rest of my nails I started with 2 coats of China Glaze – Seeing red.  I left that all to dry for a bit.  I then used Nubar – Heavy gold glitter to do a gradient of sorts on the red starting at the tips of my nails.  Once that had dried a little bit I whipped out my favourite Christmas glitter – Sinful Colors – Holiday rebel – and added some of that on top of all the gold.  I just wanted to add the little bit of red and green sparkle to the sparkle.  I then topcoated and that was that.

China Glaze – Seeing red

This is 2 coats with no topcoat.  I used 2 coats but seriously, this is basically a one coater.  I did use this on top of black in the #31DC2015 at some point and I will be using it in Tuesday Stamping soon too.  Prepare to be impressed.  The formula and opacity on this is amazing!  It’s a red creme so no shimmer or anything but it is really a beautiful red.  Definitely a favourite for me.

What do you think? I am certain it will be sparkly enough.  In the sun this was a little blinding.  I was worried it wouldn’t be Christmassy enough but once I wore it for a while it definitely started to fe3el a bit more Christmassy.  It could just be because I am not feeling very Christmassy in general.  Anyway,  I can’t wait to see what everyone else does for this prompt.  You can check them out by using the InLinkz thingum below.
