Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I feel like I managed to get a lot done but as usual, the weekend was over in a blink of an eye. I am ready to take on this week though. Actually, I just can’t believe it is APRIL already!! Usually I am exhausted and crazy busy from July / August onwards but I am ready for holidays already and it feels like we just had December holiday. This time flying business is messing with my brain.
Time for another week of #52weeknailchallenge hosted by Polish Portfolio. As always, you can follow this # to see what other people are creating and you can find the list of prompts for this year below.
The prompt this week is Black and Red and what a beautiful combination right? I have used black and red together often and this time I wanted to do something a little different. I spotted a polish that completely fit the bill so I knew I had to use it. Let me show you what the polish looks like and then what I did,
Dollish Polish – Do you want to play a game?
This is 3 coats with topcoat. This is a black jelly with red glitter and based on the “Saw” movie franchise. Jigsaw’s favourite question. This polish applies beautifully and has nice coverage for a jelly base. 2 coats might’ve been enough if they were a smidge thicker. This is a beautiful polish and I don’t know why it took me so long to use it. (This was April 2017 polish in the Why can’t every day be halloween series). I was so inspired by the polish I knew I had to take that inspiration into the nail art as well. Let me show you
I started with 3 coats of Dollish Polish – Do you want to play a game? on my pinky and ring finger and 2 coats of Sinful Colors – Snow me white on my middle and index nails. Once the white was dry I stamped using BP-L027 and Colour Alike – Cherry lollipop. This took straight to Jigsaw so I topcoated and that was that.
I quite enjoyed the first few movies in the Saw franchise even though they completely creeped me out with the gore factor. I think this definitely reminds me of the movie and I kinda like it. What do you think? Does it work?

I’ve never seen any of those movies… which is probably a good thing as I’m a sucker for all the scare effects they put in so I would watch at least 75% from behind my hands, a pillow or the shoulder of whoever is sitting next to me 😉
Your nails look pretty though, absolutely love that black base (I think I said that about another Dollish polish recently 😉 ) and it totally works with the hypnotizing spiral… falling… falling…
I loved the movies (the earlier ones are definitely better) but it is extremely gory. It’s like I can feel the pain when people have to cut their own arms off etc. It’s not so much scary as gross and it’s suspenseful. I would definitely give it a watch! 😉
