On the weekend I popped into Dischem and actually had time to wander through the isles and actually look at what is there. It’s been about 2 weeks since I have had a chance to walk through and look instead of just running in and getting what I want. I just had to share with you some of the stuff I found.
I love neon nail polish. It’s perfect for summer and goes with almost anything. I have a neon pink, a neon purple-ish and a semi neon green but for ages now I have been looking for a neon yellow. Clearly I started my search too late because it seemed neon yellow was the most popular. Nothing to be found anywhere. So while in Dischem I spotted it. The perfect, most awesome neon yellow ever! It was from a brand I have not tried before but I had to have it. I grabbed the yellow and the green. I wanted them all though. Such gorgeous colours on that little shelf.
So this is L.A. Colors in Flicker (yellow) and Mint (green)
Isn’t that just the perfect neon yellow? Let me just say I was pleasantly surprised with this polish. Yellow is known for being streaky and difficult to work with. I didn’t even bother using these neon’s on their own. I always layer neon polish over a coat of white because it helps to make them pop. Both the green and yellow are two coats over one coat of Sinful Colors Snow me White. The yellow was perfect. It glided on. The green was a little streaky on the first coat but it evened out well on the second. Both of these were on the thin side but not too thin. I really loved these. The brush isn’t as wide as the Essence brushes but is maybe slightly wider than the Sinful Colors. This wasn’t a problem for me because I am so used to the Sinful Colors brush. Both of these had one stray bristle on the brushes. One bristle on each brush was longer than the others but I simply snipped it off with scissors and I was good to go. I really happy with these and I will certainly be getting more of these.

I then saw these.
This is L.A. Girl Polka Dot Nail Art Collection. Photographed here is 1) 3 mini bottles of polish in black, silver and red with a 2 sided dotting tool and 2) 3 mini bottles of polish in blue, purple and pink/coral with a 2 sided dotting tool. These came in a variety of colours. I saw some with pink, black and white and many other combinations. I love the fact that these come with a dotting tool as well. It’s similar to the Essence Duo Stylist. I have used L.A. Girl polish before and they are quite nice. Well pigmented and nice formula. These are perfect for someone just getting into nail art or even just to build your kit. I loved these. Super cute!! Excuse the quality of the photo. These were taken in the store with my phone.

L.A. Girl seems to be on the ball with getting you into nail art. I saw these:
Ombre sets. The top one is the blue shades and the bottom is the yellow/orange shades. I also saw these sets in purple shades and green shades. These come with 5 mini polishes and a bottle of top coat. I really liked this idea Another great way to get into nail art or to grow your kit. Even better to try different shades. Let me just say that these colours are gorgeous. I know a few people who would love the purple shades and the green shades.

Then, one of my favourites that I can’t wait to add to my collection.
L.A. Colors Art Deco Stripers. These are amazing!! Really. Take my word for it. You want at least one of these!! These are R24.95 at Dischem. Go on, you know you want one. PS: L.A. Colors is not the only brand that makes these but they certainly come in a wide variety of colours.
I would love to hear what you think of these. Also, let me know which one of these you would like to win in a giveaway. I am already planning for the next one. Possibly even when the FB page has reached a certain number. If you haven’t liked the page yet you can do that here. You can also find a link in the side bar, in the header or in the footer.
By the way: Both L.A. Colors and L.A. Girl are cruelty free brands!!
